Anybody nervous?

Hell yeah, I'm pretty even keel most of the time, even in big tourney games. But they way games have gone, winning tomorrow would make us the best team left. I think UNC is the best overall team. Oregon look scary, and I think Gonzaga is legit, but as long as we play up to our current level, I think only UNC can beat us.
I would say we are playing with house money but thinking about the cheaters advancing at our expense makes me think differently.
No . We are the best team left in this . We have the best 2 players left in this . Why would I be nervous? UCLA , despite having no D , gave us more issues then UNC IMO.

This is the one I will finally feel a lot of nerves about. I hate playing teams in the tournament that you barely beat in the regular season. I don't actually mind playing the teams we lose to because of the revenge factor, but now UNC has it. Should be a really really good game. I just hope we can play steady and confident early and then pull away in the last 10 min or so like last night. I agree that if we knock out UNC we should be favored, but I doubt we will be regardless.
UNC is a lot better than UCLA. With UNC's size and physicality, its going to take one helluva a game to beat them. Vegas has us at -3 for the blue goggled fans.

To me we are playing with house money this year. I didn't feel this team had meshed right and with the lack of defense I'm happy with where we are. It helps.

Oh yeah? UCLA didn't lose to Virginia less than 3 weeks ago only scoring 43 points in the loss. Carolina barely squeaked by an Arkansas team that we destroyed on 2 occasions.
Love the enthusiasm from our fans but that might as well have been a decade ago. I don't think either team is the same as they were 3 weeks ago. It's going to be tough to beat them.
I'm nervous as hell but I like the fact that we are coming in as underdogs. It's a nice change of pace for us as we are usually the favorite. I'm going into the game without expectations and with hope. We have to play well at all positions and we have to knock down open shots.
I'm nervous until the last blueblood school is eliminated that isn't us.
I really hate the prospect of sending UNC to a FF with teams void of pedigree. While they are lost in the moment UNC would be all business and win the damn thing.

Great post. Virginia's defense held the Heels in check, and we all know we're now a very, very good defensive team.
The only position on the floor where we have a big disadvantage is at the 4, but Willis has been playing the best defense he's played in his four years, and Gabriel will come in for stretches to spell him, so hopefully we can limit his point production.
I like our chances.
I was nervous the whole week for the UCLA game, tomorrow's game not so much. It might be tomorrow morning sometime though when it kicks in. For soon reason I have a good sense of calmness about it. If we can hold UCLA to 70 we can hold UNCheat to that or less. The only thing that worries me is they do play much better D than the bruins. Fox is on fire, monk seems to be picking back up, the seniors are all BALLIN, Cal coached his *** off last game. If all of those things hold up we'll be alright. If they hold up and we still lose, I'll be pissed, but I'll still sleep and accept that we weren't the better team that night. But I don't see that happening if we play/coach like we have!!!

Every team the rest of the way is very beatable. Kansas, while their fans are a bunch of nutsacks, are a very solid team.. when they get their usual officiating, they beat anyone.. but with them out.. who worries you?

An Elite 8 game always makes me nervous, but the thought of the GD cheats advancing amplifies it times 2.
Hello, I'm still a NERVOUS WRECK FROM LAST NITE!!!! The only it's going to get any better is after the game no matter what happen's!! I can not sleep, and want to smoke so bad, and I've almost given up the habit. I quit drinking 20 or so year's ago, but I would LOVE A FEW SHOT'S OF WILD TURKEY! The BEST WHISKEY ON THE PLANET!! I know IF I did, I would be off the wagon!!!!! I'm almost [sick] from reading, and thinking about if UK looses to the CHEATS! :joy:
Here's why I'm not nervous about this game:
1) We have the two best guards remaining in this entire tournament, and there isn't anyone on UNC who can check either Monk or Fox.
2) Although people are nervous about Hicks and Willis matching up, I'm not exactly sure it will be much of a problem, because from what I've watched, Hicks just isn't very talented. Where Willis is especially vulnerable on defense is on the perimeter. Hicks doesn't have a serious permiter game and I'm near certain Cal isn't going to try and put Willis on Jackson, so there should be no problem there.
3) The way UNC wins games is by playing up-tempo and getting second chance points on offense. I think the cats showed yesterday that A, not only can we completely control the tempo of the game but B, guard teams who like to get out in transition and play at a high speed and also be able to match them in speed.
4) I think the steadiness of Dom is going to serve us very well tomorrow. His relentless on ball pressure won't allow Berry space to shoot his pull up 3s or let him drive in for a layup before the defense is Set, both of which were things he did numerous times in the regular season against us.
5) Wenyen started to show a little something on defense Friday night, and I think If he fully commits on defense, he could give Jackson a lot of problems with his length and deceptively quick hands when poking at the ball. We've been looking for him to be the X-Factor in one of these games, and I think this is finally the one.
For those 5 reasons, I'm pretty confident in our ability to win this game and move on to Phoenix.

Not nervous at all. We are the best team left standing thanks to our defense and improved confidence in all our players.

As good as UNC is, they've had a few head scratchers this year where they have played like crap and lost to really inferior teams. In particular, they don't like hostile crowds. They have played really poorly on the road.
I feel good about this one. UK is loose and having fun and playing their best basketball. Lot of pressure on UNC, and I think they're due for an off game. If UK fans show up in force and get loud, we've got this.

Nervous? A bit, yes.
I'm hoping that Bam can establish some presence inside early. The UNC bigs could be a problem for us, especially on the side of offensive rebounds.
Probably more than anything, I just hope we get an officiating crew that lets us play. None of this ticky tack stuff.

We've played in a lot of "revenge factor" games in recent years where the other team is supposedly out for revenge. We've only lost a couple of them.
