According to TOS Kaden Johnson has visited Minnesota 6 times in the past year and a half. I know he’s a Minnesota boy, but if somebody visits our campus 6 times, he’s considered a lock around here. Especially considering how well Minnesota is doing right now, I would consider it nothing short of a coup if they manage to land this kid.

Edit: 7 visits actually when you count his attendance to Minnys Junior day.

It would be a HUGE coup to land him. I think Wisconsin is the biggest threat here though.

I've heard he's not a big fan of Fleck. I think it's between us and Wisconsin.
If he’s not a big fan of fleck then why would he visit SEVEN times? If that’s true you cant say he didn’t give Fleck a chance to win him over.

Fong ball is in and has been in for some time. That’s usually a good sign. I know things can change at the last minute in recruiting, but with the way we establish relationships whith these kids, i’d be surprised if he’s changing his mind at the last minute.

same thing I heard. It’s been Huskers vs Wisconsin for awhile now but you can’t ever count out the home state team. Huskers been favored for over a week now and Frost just done an in home visit a couple days ago...cross our fingers boys.

Because the University of Minnesota is literally right in his own backyard, and he has several friends on the team? Xavier Watts visited UNL that many times and he lives an hour away.

But I read somewhere a while back, that Kaden is a pretty low-profile kid, and Fleck would text him every day and that was a little much for him. Maybe it was just rumors. But I also saw a tweet from a Gophers reporter recently that said he would be very surprised if Kaden picks Minnesota.

Other recruits have said that about Fleck too. Relentless would be the nice way to say it.

You’re right, I didn’t realize that Kaden’s school Minnehaha is literally in Minneapolis. Makes sense.

I know Bryce Benhart and his parents were turned off by Fleck. Fleck showed up to one of his games in a helicopter wearing a jersey with his number on it. The Benharts were not impressed.

I am sure that Fleck is annoying and pushy but recruiting is sales and in the end you are doing everything you can into tricking the kid that what you can offer is best for him, when in reality you are trying to get the kid that is best for you...and the second he signs you are trying to find a new better player to take his spot.

So I don't blame those coaches for doing anything they can to close the sale. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. For every kid/family turned off by something there are 10 more that are turned on by it (that sounds creepy)

I think Fleck shows a lack of social skills if he showing up in a helicopter for the Benharts. Salesman don't use the same pitch for every prospective buyer. They use masterful social skills to read the situation and use the appropriate pitch. Most of the time the "I will turn your boy into a man, become a lifelong mentor, and do everything in my power to graduate them", is going to go over great with the parents and the players. Fleck is trying to get out of Minnesota and get a huge contract to a major school...if he can hound some kids and wins some games it might happen. I was hoping he would get an offer to FSU so we didn't have to look at him anymore...his schtick is fake and on a timer.
