Anybody been visited by a Census worker?

I did mine online the day I got the request in April, but most apparently did not. From Nextdoor, many local people did it online but still are getting visited in person by a worker. I don't know if it's for further information, or just a mistake.

In 2010, I got the "long form" that asked for a lot more detailed information. This time, it was very simple, and didn't ask for information that's presented statistically on the census.gov website, like commuting time, value of the house, etc.

If Jesus, Joseph, and Mary can ride a dadgum donkey all the way to Bethlehem for a census then you can log on and fill yours out.

Had one come by. Did ours back in March. Didn't keep them from dropping by to tell us to do it.

It took me like 5 minutes I think. Just took me 2 months to remember to do it.

Funds already appropriated and need to be disbursed. Otherwise, Census Bureau won't be funded next year..way government spending works. Its budget modus operandi calls for saving the money otherwise it will be lost

That's why I asked. A lot of people in other nearby neighborhoods say they are being visited but they'd already submitted their forms. Maybe they don't give the census worker the required information, or maybe just double checking. I've not had anyone show up yet, but wouldn't be surprised if they do.

The workers they hire aren't necessarily experienced or highly qualified. The job doesn't pay much.

I worked for the census bureau in 2000 and made good money as a 20 year old. If I’m not mistaken I was paid $13 an hour plus mileage and a per diem each day.
