It’s strange we haven’t heard anything from him. His dad said he was going to test the NBA waters, but last time I checked the list of players testing the waters, he wasn’t on it. I would love to have him back. He and/or Mintz would bring that talented experienced player they’re missing.

He has not made it official but everything I’ve seen and heard indicates he will return. I imagine after he gets to know Orlando and Chin he will make a statement.

If Brooks is even a question I wish we would have at least kicked the tires on Timmy Allen or Disu who both went to Texas. Disu 6ft9 and 37% from 3. It still hurts we didn't try for him. I am still surprised we haven't got involved with Mitchel from Umass. I can't believe he is still out there, but he says he isn't in a hurry.

Feel like I’ve read this exact post from you, numerous times. Ha

Would love to have Brooks back.
He'd bring experience at the very least and I think he still had the potential to be a very good college player and leader for the team.

Just needs to be a bit more aggressive on the offensive end and develop at least a serviceable 3-Point stroke.

Again, given how quickly Disu committed to Texas after entering the portal his mind may have already been made up.

With Allen had we recruited him, I imagine people would of complained about his subpar 3 PT percentages like they did with Bryce Hamilton.

I agree that we should have reached out to Tre Mitchell, though.
Seen LSU fans on Twitter who think they'll land him.
Maybe he's already been made a "Strong A$$ offer"?

I think Mitchell and Cal are waiting on Brooks. He leaves Mitchell will be a Cat.
You may be right, but it’s that type of recruiting that got us to a place we were last year.

We need depth. Putting our faith in a thin roster at each position is a huge gamble. We need guys to come in not fearing comp or how many minutes will be there.

No need for Brooks and his people to give updates. All it does is open him up to more of the hate you still see coming from a few. Thank them for being selfish and trying to make players not feel welcome.
He's the one who opened his mouth about it and admitted he wasn't knowledgeable about Rupp.

Once Again folks want to blame the fans for something they had nothing to do with.

Lazy and weak.

Im not blaming the fans nor Brooks. Look how many “adults” are duped and brainwashed by the filthy bait-click media today. I’m a supposed adult myself, yet I still make idiotic statements I later wish I could take back.

Let the kid learn and grow. Isn’t that what parents tell their own to do. I don’t agree with the gesture nor statement, but I do agree it’s his right to live and learn. None of us would want to be shackled from expressing our thoughts and opinions.

And that’s just my thoughts, not trying to start a dramatic cultural debate. It’s exhausting.

If you’re still holding that against him that’s on you. I’m sure no one here has ever made a mistake.
I'm not holding it against him but I aint blaming the fans for something Brooks was responsible for.
I was just responding to a post. You can keep pretending the fans were at fault for reacting to his comments if you want.

Agree. Just tired of the fans getting blamed for everything and the people who actually said or did something somehow become the victims.
I didn't like what he said but said at the time that the fault was Cal's for not educating Brooks before letting him look silly.

I didn’t think Brooks looked silly, just somewhat making an “uneducated” gesture. Live and learn. I will never give up on a kid that has a good heart.

On the lighter side, Brooks shunned his home state to come here. That alone earned some of my respect.

I posted that in jest, but I see it got zapped. People need to get a sense or humor instead of being so sensitive. When I was growing up, I was taught to take responsibility for what I said and did. Seems like people now feel the need to over protect the youth of today. He should have got blow back from that comment, teach him a life lesson of owning what you say, and if you know nothing about a subject, stay quiet about it

He said something one time and nothing since so it is in fact the fans, or members here that are still going after him on a personal level. Again, if you're still pissed off enough at him to call him out that is on you.

Yes your post got zapped because it was going to lead to more like it that were not in jest. He got all kinds of blow back that he deserved when he made those comments and rightfully so. That was a long time ago now.

Suffice to say, I think he did get blow back. And I hope he’s stronger from it. Social media seemingly has no mercy.

I didn't call him out. Good grief you're clueless.
I'm not mad about it, I blamed Cal when it happened. Maybe read what I post before you respond.
Maybe you agree with what Brooks said. Must be why you want to blame fans for reacting to his comments.
Cal is the one who let this happen, he just cowardly let Brooks be used.
