Any truth to this?

Rutgers is getting looked at my major talent, sees that they might be able to get better talent than Fields, and lets him go? Not a bad thing.

You would have to assume that this is along the lines of what happened. I wouldn't say "let him go" as much as "cooled on him."

Considering that after Fields most OL recruits fit profile of Patriot League players I don't see how one guy gets expendable.

Higgy - I love your positivity on the basketball side, but highly, highly doubt this is the case here

I don't keep up with the football as much, but i am always seeing big name recruits that rutgers is chasing. Field wasn't an allstar, probably a 6/10 olinemen. Maybe flood is making room for other people.

Wouldn't be the craziest thing. Shout out to Scarlet and Madhat, fellow basketball forum brothers.

No way in hell. Kid seems like a bit of an extreme personality. I hope he comes back in the fold and wouldn't count that out at all.

Some pretty good reasoning going on the other thread, but I guess well never fully know.

Who is to say who is a major talent and who isn't? Frankly nobody knows. Three years from now..things will look very different.

Honestly my guess would be NO only because (as another poster said) it is not Flood's MO to jerk a guy around.

I COULD see Flood being straight up with him and saying "Hey just so you know you are going to have to work your *** off and really put your dues in to prove you belong on the starting O-Line. Just because you are a fan favorite doesn't mean you will be getting any extra brownie points or anything" or something along those lines.

Or if we really do have some mystery Big Name O-Line recruits we are talking to that NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT (Which I highly doubt) then I could see Flood saying something like "Hey Ted just so you know we are going to be having a real solid class of OL this season. I hope you are ready to come in and work and compete boy because its going to be a battle to earn that starting spot." And then maybe combine that with not getting as much attention as he might have liked and BAM we now have an issue/altercation that ends poorly.

OBVIOUSLY THIS IS ALL SPECULATION!

I am just basing this whole theory on the fact that MANY recruits have come out the Hale Center after their official and unofficial visits and told Todderick Hunt that they loved how straight up the coaches were there and they felt like they were really talking to them like men and not like a salesman trying to sell to a mark. And how Coach Flood sat down 1 on 1 and talked very straight up about expectations and what he thinks they should work on, etc.

This statement makes it crystal clear that you're nothing but a troll, or that you pay zero attention to Rutgers recruiting and have no idea what you're talking about.

Rutgers has had two dozen OL recruits on campus in the past month with much more potential than Field. They will end up with a very good OL class.

What I would like to know is what qualities ru05 to have a clue to what makes a D1a OL or not...my guess is that he has nothing to back up his idiotic opinion.

I could see it happening in this manner also, but I am a big believer that our current staff has lots of character.

There could be 1000 other possible scenarios also, depending on what the situation really is. I don't really buy into the idea that we have more talented prospects waiting in the wings though.

That would be about as dumb as breaking up with your girlfriend because a hotter girl flirted with you at a party and you think you have a chance to marry her.

It doesn't take much knowledge to know that over the last 7 years RUs OL recruting/play has been its weak link. RU set an all-time D1 sack record in 2010 because it couldn't pass or run block. Then for years it coudln't run block for spit - helping create the TurnNova era.

RU's OL recuting was mostly abysmal (K Johnson exception) and had to use converted DLs. RUs OL recuting is still weak - very very weak for a B1G. Look at OL for PSU. OSU etc and look at RU. They have big players with lots of offers, stars the works. RU has "project" players that are undersized and with few offers aside from palces like Colgate, Monmouth, directional colleges etc. RU is so not a B1G team OL wise. Take little to understand the whoopings will keep coming with RU's anemic OL recruting. The idots are the people who cant see that

RU05 should stick to the CE board with his tin foil hat inspired anti-Obama posts.
