I hope not...I hate tn.

The big12 was prob the best conference anyway

Also...parity. in a single elimination things happen...its why theres never been four 1 seeds in the final four
It has happened twice since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985.
2008: Kansas (champion), Memphis (runner-up), North Carolina, UCLA.
2025: Florida (champion), Houston (runner-up), Duke, Auburn.

The SEC didn’t have many top 10 teams like it did last year, but it lacked any truly horrible teams and had a strong middle. Historically, and especially since Florida’s repeat, this was one of the strongest years top to bottom for the conference.

There were 10 teams in the top 50 of Kenpom this year. Ole Miss and LSU were around top 70. The worst two were borderline top 100. Pre Dedan injury, LSU was top 40. There were a lot of good teams in the conference but very few great teams.
This sounds exactly like the explanation for SEC football. I agree with your statement essentially saying there are precious few gimmee’s in this league. Every school is trying to excel and are spending money towards that goal. The cautionary tale is the Big 10 schools have more money and that may be the reason for their rise in success in last few years in both sports.
