I love all the commits we have, but i don't see any of them here for more than 1 year (maybe Tre will stay for 2?). I think it would be good for balance and future leadership to have a goldwire/white/vrank type player that will be here all four years in this class since probably no one else will.

Is there anyone we're looking at or is it on to the 2019 kids?

thanks if anyone has any info

Never know. No one envisioned Bagley deciding 2 months before the season started that he was going to reclassify from class of ‘18 to ‘17. Seems like more and more kids are going down that route. Also wouldn’t be surprised that K and staff keep an eye on all AAU games and stats this summer, and if they find a player that is lightning it up from 3 point line, as well as be automatic from FT line, get a late offer to join the 2018 team.

I think Bolden coming back takes us out of the running for Travis. Although I haven't even heard he's leaving Stanford. But I'm okay with our team. Cremo removed us from his list. Would have been nice to have Trent back for shooting and experience, but it is what it is. Silver lining is it should hopefully keep the bench upperclassman from transferring, as there is playing time to be had. Bolden, Javin, AOC and White should get bench minutes, and I like what I saw from Goldwire this year, so he can give us a few minutes a game. We need to keep folk from leaving at this point, which will give us depth.

What about Reid Travis? Did that ship sail?
There has been no mention of Travis being a grad transfer. He was testing the waters but the rest was speculation. By all accounts he loves Stanford and has not said anything about transferring if he returns.

Why leave and he’s guaranteed to start and be the go to guy at Stanford. Don’t know who started the transfer if the draft didn’t work out but why would he transfer anywhere when he’ll be the man on his same team.

I believe because he graduated and mentioned wanting to play in the NCAA tourney....don't have the link though.

Here is one of many links that mention him potentially coming a grad transfer - I'm not just pulling it outta my arse I promise lol:

Bolden made the smart choice coming back to Duke. He will play starter minutes. He will be a year older and smarter. When healthy he is a natural rim protecter and shot blocker. With 7’6 wing span.

Next year’s draft is weak on big men especially at the Center position.

Nice bit of a redemption story if Bolden has a really good season. Really pulling for him. So much hinges on the development of him, Javin, and Alex. All three could be anywhere from studs to marginal contributors. We really need at least 2 of those guys to step up.

I read that last month but it’s speculation at this point. It doesn’t even say nothing direct from him.

It just says schools are keeping an eye on him in case he becomes one. I really don’t see him going anywhere, where he might have to come off the bench and if Bolden didn’t declare I pretty much feel confident in saying he’s working his butt off to start next season and no one sees Zion coming off the bench I would think. Duke also still has Javin on the bench and White.

Obviously if some superstar (like bagley) decided to reclass and come this coming year that'd be great but it would likely be another one-n-done player and the 2018 kids would still likely all be gone in a year or two.

I'd still love some more continuity (and hopefully leadership and experience) even with players like goldwire/white/vrank. Though i'd prefer those guys be more on the Javin level, skill wise.

Some under-the-radar shooting guard who wants to be at duke for 4 years even if they didn't play a lot would be great though. That's exactly the type of player i am hoping we find.

Reid would be a heck of a 6th man though!

I don't think Reid Travis is going anywhere to be a sixth man, though.

He could still explore the grad transfer route, but I feel he would have made the announcement already. Someone I know with his old high school program in Minneapolis did tell me that it was something his family would seriously consider when the season ended. That person also thought that Duke would be a contender for his services, if they were interested.

With Bolden returning and the other guys Duke now has in the fold, I just don't see it happening....even if he were to transfer. But it would be a solid pickup. He's got some of that old school, traditional game....really good scorer, great rebounder and incredible hands. I have to think he's sick of losing at Stanford.

Totally agree. Would love to get a 4 year SG that can come in off the bench and light it up from the 3 point line.
