No. Not even close. Nor would even making the final. Gotta win the whole thing or it's the end of the line unless we wanted to play in a little tournament like the CBI or the CIT, which I highly doubt.
The NIT used to be easier to get into. If you were a big school with a winning record you were a shoo in. Now that it takes regular season champs who lose their conference tourney the NIT field of high majors is just basically the latter half of the bubble. There's a perception from non-basketball people that the NIT is much easier to get into than it is because it used to be.
We haven't even made the NIT since 2006, fwiw.
