It really seems like he and his school tried every which way to add games so he could break a record.

You shouldn't need additional chances. If modern day offense and more games per season isn't enough to beat a record from the 60s, then you weren't the guy.

This record will only ever be broken by crazy situations like an extra covid year + by a mediocre chucker. Anyone good enough to really break the record will be off to the NBA in a years time.

Its a valid complaint, especially if they intentionally didnt invite the team because of the record. Records are made to be broken, you didn't see Kareem ***** because Lebron broke his, by playing more games a year and having a 3 point line. Should Kansaa and Kentucky be considered the winningest programs of all time since they played hundreds of more games than probably 40 perxent of colleges?

You didn’t see Pistol Pete bitching about Davis playing 6 years to Pistol’s 3. It wasn’t broken move on to playing overseas and great career Mr. Davis

Dude already had 57 more career games to break the record in, even if he did it’s still nowhere near as impressive being on a horrible team, weak ads conference with below .500 postseason tournaments added to his score. Still didn’t reach him so get over it.

Lebrons is at least more comparable. They at least played the same level of competition, for a similar amount of years. Scoring record be Damned, the best scorer ever is Jordan.

Detroit-Mercy finished 14-19 overall & 8th place out of 11 teams in the Horizon. They didn’t earn, or, deserve an invitation to ANY tournament.

Detroit Mercy was terrible, they'd have gotten in over a more deserving team BECAUSE of the record

Why do people bring up the additional games against this kid but don't want to hear about with UK and KU? Seriously question.

It was kind of funny how the CBI was tweeting about Detroit Mercy, only to not invite them in the end. The CBI Final Four is tomorrow on ESPN 2. Eastern Kentucky vs. Southern Utah and Radford vs. Charlotte.

Go Colonels!!!

It’s as if he was raised by a coach who once ran onto the court in a one-possession rivalry game and berated an official. Oh wait. 🙄
