of the Alton Sterling shooting. The officer definitely yells "he's got a gun" yet one was never visible. That wasn't a gun the officer removed from his pocket. I enlarged the video and paused it.

1) when the cops tell you to stop moving - stop moving

2) when you're on the ground and the cops tell you to stop moving - stop moving

3) if you have a gun, and the cops tell you to stop moving - stop moving

4) bad things happen when people act stupidly.

You seriously think he's moving? His left arm is pinned under the officer's left knee. His right arm is under the car. He takes a shot to the face from the officer in the distance.

So describe to me, in more detail, how he is acting stupidly. I would like to know so the next time I am pinned down on my back by two police officers that I don't "act stupidly".

Did you ever see a gun in that video?

You obviously didn't watch that video....or the other videos.......if the police have to tackle you ...you're acting stupidly

Are you serious? You aren't really this stupid?

I'll ask again, Did you ever see a gun in that video?

Ummmmmmmmmm and given the angel of the video and the position of the police.....it's kind of difficult...esp. if you don't now how much of the gun was exposed

Again, if the police have to tackle you.....have you acted in your best interest?

Let's see. How about I pin you down to the ground, have my buddies sit on you with your arms in awkward positions, and see if you can be perfectly still and OK with that? When I was younger, I was mistaken for doing something and was thrown down (from behind), slammed to the ground, and hogtied like a criminal. After cooler heads prevailed, I was let go with NO apology. But, was I perfectly still? Hell no. I had no clue what was going on first off, and secondly my body was twisted in discomforting ways with a lot of body weight on top of me (I am only 165 lbs; cops were well over 200 lbs).

But, yeah, you are right.....[thumbsup]....your statement is endorsed by Rodney King.....

And again, what this video is not showing is the run up to the event.........that's kind of critical

I agree. So do we not take any word of the girlfriend at her word? Do we distrust her altogether? Why hasn't the cop came out with a prepared statement? Or has he? I know the governor of Minnesota has pretty much already condemned this as a bad shooting.

I'm really concerned with what is happening in this country with what has happened in La, Minn, Dallas and this Tenn shooting rampage.
http://www.wbbjtv.com/2016/07/08/east-tenn-highway-gunman-motivated-by-police-shootings-tbi-says/

I'm not concerned at all. We have no race problems, no gun problems, our government loves working together and never delivers speeches dividing the nation even further and alienating individuals, the economy is great all across the nation......things are great. What are you talking about?

If the cop is smart, he says nothing.

Christ. The angle of the video doesn't allow you to see if there was a gun. Many times, you can see if somebody has a gun in their pocket, especially if the person is on their back and the shorts (due to basic gravity) are pressed down against the gun.

it wasn't a gun the officer removed from his pocket. I enlarged the video and paused it.

Then, what is it? You can't tell what it is. It could easily be a small Kel-Tec. It could just as easily be a cell phone. This video came out early yesterday. The version you linked is very grainy compared to the versions posted yesterday from this angle. There is no way you can rule out that it isn't a gun from this, regardless of you enlarging and pausing.

The full version from this angle shows the officer yelling "he's reaching for his pocket." Then, he quickly yells "he's got a gun. A gun!"

Even in this grainy version of the video, at the 10 second mark, you can clearly see the victim's right shoulder drop lower in an aggressive motion. This is consistent with what happens when somebody is reaching lower (as in to your pocket). Look at the 10 second mark and watch what happens to his shoulder. Either somebody has a hold of his hand and is yanking his arm down or he is dropping his arm lower.

Further, the store owner/victim's friend is on camera saying that the officer pulled a gun from the victim's pocket right after the shooting. He would have a better visual than this video.

Are you familiar with his rap sheet? He has dozens (yes, dozens) of arrests. At least two of them are for illegal possession of a weapon.

To rule out that it isn't a gun is foolish based on the evidence we have. Again, it could be a cell phone or something else, but you are once again being a sheep and following the party line.

. His right arm is under the car.

You must be looking at the wrong video again. His right arm is not prohibited from moving by the car. He can clearly move his shoulder down quite far, which unless he is dislocating his shoulder, means his arm is moving, too. When a shoulder drops that much, it is a motion consistent with lowering your arm.

I'll ask again, Did you ever see a gun in that video?

From the evidence the public has been given, you can't definitively say it's a gun. You also can't definitively say it isn't. We can only go on the evidence we have.

The evidence is:

1) the officer yells "he is going for his pocket" as the victim's right shoulder drops quickly downwards consistent with what would happen if somebody was reaching for their pocket in that position.

2) the officer yells "he's got a gun, a gun."

3) moments after the shooting, the officer pulls out an object from that same pocket. It could be a gun. It could be something else.

4) the guy's friend states that an officer pulled a gun out of the victim's pocket ridge after the shooting

5) the guy has a history of illegally carrying guns (and everything else from robbery, to sex crimes, to drugs, etc.).

Based on the evidence we have, you'd have to be a fool to claim he didn't have a gun for sure.

That's the angle I first saw. I'm still unsure why officers drew their guns in that situation. Extreme close quarters where you run the risk of losing control of the firearm, which is what I think happened.

I think it was an ND that led to them shooting off more rounds.

They did tase him a few times but that had little to no impact.

I know, because the previous 8 years before these past 7 1/2 we had no major events take place at all.........well.....except for that minor event that happened in September 2001.....but that doesn't count for anything.......and 2005 Katrina..........;)

Oops....and Enron........can't forget about that minor economic problem.......

So you don't things have been better in the last 7 1/2 years? I think race relations have really improved.

No not really.......I mentioned earlier today that President Obama was correct in his Dallas incident remarks. I also guess you have missed the many, many times I have given him kudoos for his handling of the mess in Iraq he inherited. You also must have missed the several times I said that I survived his years, yes that was actually a backhanded compliment. I mainly point out his failure to deliver on his promises and his many gaffs. No.....I'm no fan of his but I have always respected his position as the POTUS.

There's where we can agree. I respect, and will always respect, EVERY POTUS. It's the most difficult job in the world. Plus, you must have not read where I have said numerous times that I'm not an Obama fan.

Watch this video and let me know what you think...

Pretty bad! Where was this and when did it happen? Not to make light of the situation but it reminds me of the Clint Eastwood line, "You just shot an unarmed man", "well, he should have armed himself".

And there you have it. You saw what most people see. The cops shooting a guy AFTER he laid his gun down. But what you didn't see is what the cop from behind saw. As the criminal laid his gun down he was also pulling a handgun with his right hand. Go back and rewatch, I had to a couple of times.

This video is a perfect example of how watching videos without the appropriate information can take a life form of it's own. Someone off of their rocker watches and and is filled with more hate for cops without knowing all of the details.
