Even if he doesn't make this stuff up, his sources have proven to be unreliable. Every week there is a new "Matt just said" thread and I can't even remember the last one that was true. KSR has become just another bad gossip source.

Not at all, but if someone takes a swipe at me, he/she should expect something in return. We should be able to disagree without getting attacked. I simply stated my doubt that this kid will ever play a game at UK. I believe I have more of a reason to take my position than you to take your position on the matter. There has never been a Cal couched player at UK to return with a pre-draft ranking in the top 10. He has repeatedly stated that he doesn't support the return of players with that profile.

Because I choose to use Cal's past behavior to predict his future behavior is no need for you to get upset and accuse me of anything other than posting my belief. If you can't handle opposing viewpoints, maybe you should stop reading my posts or put me on ignore. If I agree with your posts, I will likely give it a thumbs up, but if I disagree with it, I will likely tell you why I don't. If this makes me Mr. Hyde, nice meeting you Mr. Sensitive.

LMD response to my OP to start thread:

"Can we stop posting about people who are not really a member of our beloved Cats? Cal has a history of pushing kids out to the NBA who weren't projected to be drafted nearly as high as Sharpe. So, there is no need to keep posting about someone who hasn't nor never will play for UK. This is just another scam Cal is executing on UK fans. He is just another player soon to be in the NBA who Cal can claim came through the Wildcats' program."

Who is the one attacking? You questioned why I posted the thread to begin with and went on a rant about Cal scamming. I asked you not to open the thread if you didn't want to read about Sharpe. You called me a slurper (gross haven't slurped anything in my life). I called you Mr. Hyde...I've had plenty of exchanges with you in the past (last night re: TyTy injury) with no problem.

You clearly accused me of ranting which I see as uncalled for. I didn't accuse you of anything, so I don't know what your point is other than proving that you can't handle opposing viewpoints without going negative.

As for blasting your post, what is wrong with as you stated blasting your post? I didn't blast you. I didn't realize that your posts have feelings. For the record, I read every post that stimulates my interest and will most likely provide a response.

Matt Jones is taking the position that there's a good chance Sharpe returns, but in the end, we all know how this will turn out, and when it does, Matt will write something like "Sharpe returning was a longshot the whole time. We'll still have a good team."

If you weren't a fan of UK and just a random observer, you'd look at this situation and see that it makes zero sense for him to sit out a full year of competitive basketball.

Several scenarios here:
  1. He's good enough to help the team, but he doesn't play and we don't win the title, and he comes back. - (I'm still pissed at him, but will support him next year)
  2. He's good enough to help the team, but he doesn't play and we don't win the title, and he doesn't come back. - (screw him for ripping off the university)
  3. He's good enough to help the team, but he doesn't play and we win the title, and he comes back. (Still frustrated)
  4. He's good enough to help the team, but he doesn't play and we win the title, and he doesn't come back. (Whatever, but he still ripped off the university)
  5. He's not good enough to help the team and he comes back (well how good is he anyway if he couldn't add depth?)
  6. He's not good enough to help the team and he doesn't come back (will be funny to watch the NBA team who drafts him realize what a dud he is)
There's no scenario here where a UK fan should be happy with the situation unless we win the title this year.

And the only benefit for him to sit this year is if he's going to the draft. And if I were an NBA team I'd question his toughness for sitting out a year.

On Wednesday in the thread debating if he will ever play at UK, you posted, “I’ll eat crow if Sharpe plays. But will you and the Cal supporters eat it if we are right?”

Eating crow and telling people to eat it if you are right refers to him not playing at UK.

What am I missing here?

I'm fine with the scenario of him not playing this year because I love this team. Whether or not SS plays or not doesn't change that one bit....and if we don't win a title it won't change that.

All that said, if the kid never plays here then I will be very irritated.

He isn't sitting a full season either though...not at UK. He got here a shade over a month ago. He hasn't played organized ball in close to a year as I understand it.

IMHO a lot of folks are downplaying the ease of him coming into this system mid season and playing immediately, with new teammates, coaches, etc.

The best way to a title this year is to not rock the boat.

Hopefully he returns, if he doesn't and UK/Cal got everyone's hopes up it will get ugly.

Of course I do, but in that context, you say you’ll eat crown if Sharpe plays, which means you don’t think he will play and then say will you eat it if we are right. Meaning right about him not playing.

I think we are arguing semantics here, but you don’t think he’ll play….that’s the only reason you would eat crow and ask those who think he will play to eat it.

We need someone to replace Oscar because I don't see anyone currently or incoming at this point to man the middle. Ware may get there but right now I wouldn't feel good with him being the guy getting 30 mpg.

NBA insiders are saying now what a lot of us were saying from the beginning of this ordeal… He’s never playing a minute of CBB!

Im not sure what you’re hoping is going to happen, but now you’re are second guessing the most knowledgeable people on this subject.

You honestly believe SS is coming back, with the colossal amount of evidence he’s not? You’ve always seemed like an honest poster, but your refusal to accept reality is almost trollish. What gives?
