Offers from Yale, Penn and Princeton.
I thought Ivy League didn't give scholarships for football?

Schiano must think this dude is NFL bound. I don’t remember him ever working this hard on a guy who decommited.

That is one profusely decorated aircraft
There should be 9,000 block R magnets on that helicopter. Any that fall off during flight should be considered airmail advertising,
Grant in Aid
In the case of NIL deals, Ivies have the ability to use it to their advantage to work out a "full" ride. It will be interesting to see if they can land better talent over the years.

And I get three calls a week from the R Fund begging for donations to help fund tuition for needy students....

I love Coach Greg and believe he’s probably the only coach capable of actually winning a game or two each season in the B10.

But flying a helicopter to talk to a seventeen year old kid? That’s unbelievably unnecessary.

In what world do you live? It's one of the more effective and impressive things he can do in this recruiting war. It's in his budget. We're competing in an arms race. Go big or go home.
Begging for donations is part of every charity I support. No matter how much I give or they have.

I believe the helicopter is provided by a private donor.

magnets on helicopter skin.. think about that a minute. I have an aluminum fridge now that magnets do not stick to. what kind of steel helicopters are out there?

Can see your point…especially when the Recruit is only an 30 minute drive away.

That’s always been part of Schiano’s deal. He is big on “the presentation”. Personally, I’m not big on theater/effects but whatever works to attract high level players. He is a good coach and a very good recruiter.

There is a specific travel fund within Athletics to support such trips and expenses.

I thought these helicopter rides were a donation by the company. Meaning they cost absolutely nothing to the school, coming out of taxpayers pockets or those of professors or students.

Not sure, but probably not any more?
The linked article is from 2018:

"Rutgers' usage agreement with Liberty Helicopter expired last year. The football program now uses the services of Grasshopper LLC, and Hobbs said the helicopter usage is paid through private funds."
