Most blue chips usually go out of state anyway. We used to get blue chip running backs to stay, but we will not have a chance running the air raid. We better hope to keep blue chip QBs, WRs, and pass blocking OL. Maybe we will get that Manning kid.******************

I hate losing top in state talent like that as well but he is making the right decision. A between the tackles bruiser would be wasted at State. I’m glad he is going somewhere we don’t have to play every year.

Seriously, if we were still running the spread under Mullen or even Moorhead, I would be a little more down about this, but we're just not going to get top RB's in the Air Raid (and that's ok).

He never gave us a look. He was going OOS from the get-go. Like Dawgg said, we are going to struggle land top tier RBs, but we will be in the game for WRs and QBs.

Unless he gets lost on the bench behind all those other 4 and 5 stars. Top recruit going to some of those schools is a gamble. Yeah they will get rings but will they get playing time.

Bad argument. It's very rare that we get a truly coveted out-of-state player from another state when the in-state school wants them. I can't really think of one. Nick Turner maybe? Marvin Byrdsong?

We will have a hard time signing big time RB's in this offense. I'm sure we will find some productive scat backs who are good pass catchers and make it work just fine, but most blue chip backs won't have much interest in an offense that averages well under 100 YPG on the ground. It's very similar to our issues recruiting WR's under previous coaches.

I don’t think you can blame Hill’s season last year on anyone but Hill. Give it time. I think RB’s will be used at state a lot like they are trending in the NFL. Doesn’t mean we’ll land the 5-star guys, that’s not new, but we will get good production from the RB position.
