Good kid and good athlete. He verballed to UMass early on and shutdown his recruitment. Then UMass pulled his offer right before signing day. Taking Joe as a PWO is all upside.
Why did UMass pull his offer ?

I googled to find out more about the young lad. Like the highlights.
Is that his dad with the interesting job?

Another capable body can't hurt. Really long strides for a 5'10" guy.
Enjoy the experience.

I guess UMESS gave his ship to one of those 4/5 * athletes they have on speed dial.
Have to say having them pull their offer should put a huge chip on his shoulder.

I wonder if he is related to Lee Lusardi who played for RU in 1956 and Bob Lusardi who played here in 1956 and 1957. They were both single wing running backs.

yes... strange.
Why would UMASS pull his offer ?

What I hear is UMass over recruited. They had offers out all over the place and it turned out that more kids than they expected were going to sign. There were several 3* kids they didn't think they'd land who ended up signing. Joe was rated a 2* and was told his scholarship was going to a higher rated kid. There was then some late interest from Illinois and several FCS schools, but I don't think Ill offered and Joe wanted more than a Villanova type experience.

That’s good intel. From his highlights, he looks like he does everything but drive the bus and fill the Gatorade. Maybe he’s a special teamer, nickel corner, punt ret, etc. if he has a great attitude and a hard worker, we want him! Hey, if it gets people from Summit excited about RU rather than The Hunt, that’s a win also.

Nope, John Lusardi is part owner of The Liberty Group. They own several moving and storage companies, operated a document shredding service and provide commercial building maintenance.

Well, Rutgers is certainly a prime example of under the radar types going on to great success. Gary Brackett, Sean O'Hara, the McCourty twins. Hopefully Joe will join that list.
