Another fantastic primetime NFL game.

17 Green Bay... They have sidewalk fans like Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Bama. I know there's not enough people in Green Bay or Wisconsin that can travel like that

Bad beat for me tonight.
I had the over and that touchdown would have gotten it for me. They reversed it, Then all it needed was a FG to go to overtime and someone to win by FG in overtime but the interception ends game. WTF. Rodgers is one of the best ever, wins without his top three receivers and loses his best TE tonight too.

I have yet to figure out how they overturned the touchdown in the 4th quarter. There’s no way you can look at the replay and determine where he is.

I don't think the Packers are great. Cards haven't played a great schedule. Tampa and Dallas are both better.

Had Hopkins over 5.5 catches then he blew his hammy…other night I had the Braves pitcher over 4.5 strikeouts and he also gets hurt…maybe If I bet on Kentucky something will happen to them too

I don't like the packers but they sure do like Miss State. I pull for them just for that reason.

I bet Aaron Jones over 5.5 catches and over 46.5 receiving yards. Thankfully both hit.

That was the worst hit I have seen this year. Those are two of the best teams in the NFL. I just hate the Packers, not sorry.
It was a weird hit too. Not sure what Hill was doing. It's like he just waited to get hit, and the defender was like he was shot out of a cannon.

So you’re saying you should only be a fan of team if you live in that city?
Yeah this is an odd take. Most people I knew were Saints fans that grew up in MS. I know 8 of the 10 USM fans cheered for GB when Favre was there much like a huge number of State fans cheer for Dallas.

There’s several NFL teams that have fans all across the country.

Cowboys
Steelers
49ers
Packers

You watch any away game with those teams and there’s going to be a large group of fans there supporting them.

Add Raiders to your list. And they are a scary bunch of thugs that show up. Every time they come to the superdome, it has the same feel as if you were walking the streets about 4 blocks off Bourbon at 3am. Head on a swivel for sure.

No. I'm just saying there's a ton of Packer fans at every away game so they come from all over like Notre Dame Bama. I'm guessing you don't have a problem with sidewalk fans that's fine. I just don't care for fans that decide one day Hey! I'm gonna be a Packers fan but don't have an any ties to Green Bay or Wisconsin I do live in Arizona but I don't like the Cardinals.

^^^THIS^^^

The Saints and Tennessee are both close to Mississippi so I can see why you would be fans there. That's why I started hating the Saints because they were on TV every Sunday.

My father lived in Wisconsin for 20 some odd years before he died so I had first-hand experience with Green Bay Packer fans. That probably has a lot to do with the despise of them as well. You couple that with one the biggest wanna be a TV Star Jerks in the world being one of the best football players ever... so not only do they win a lot I haver to hear a love fest for the Book of the Month QB during the broadcast.

I guess I’ll disagree because I’ve been a 49ers fan since I was a little kid but I have zero ties to San Francisco. My dad liked Joe Montana so I just kinda latched on to them. I was sitting in his lap as a newborn when “The Catch” happened.

Nobody really does that though. There's always something that stirs up some true passion inside of you. You can't just intentionally 'decide'. And it's not always simply location or geography that does that.

A lot of pro football fans have their fandom rooted in childhood, like DCD said. My son has now latched onto the Chiefs......I have no idea why, he missed their Super Bowl(s), and just now is old enough to care, and they are falling. He may be a fan for life now, who knows.

Now there are a few that puzzle me, particularly the teams who have moved cities. Some guys just like a franchise, like the Raiders. I've not sure on the Rams and Chargers, just weird. Colts and Ravens have always been weird too. Texans and Titans/Oilers.

I guess it’s the level of sidewalk fan for me. If some guy that lives in Evergreen, AL and is a tide fan for 30 years and knows the history says he is a diehard Bama fan I don’t have a problem with it. But the guy from Pensacola that says Roll Tide every time I see him and can’t name the coach prior to Saban pisses me off. Same with ND fans. I find that they are pretty knowledgeable about the Irish so I can respect that, but the person who says I have to cheer for them because they are Catholic can kick rocks. They don’t cheer for BC. They cheer for ND because they win. It’s being a State and Saints fan that makes me loathe people that just cheer for winners.

I would suspect the guy from Pensacola isn't a fan. He's just trying to fit into something fun, but I doubt he really cares if they win or lose. 100% sure he's not on a message board discussing his team.

And on the Catholic thing....I think that gives you enough of a tie to root for ND, or anybody else. I wouldn't hate on him for that. But again....are they really fans? If they don't care, and are just cashing in on a trend, they don't count.

Funny story for those not from Memphis:

When the Houston Oilers first decided to move to Nashville, the stadium they were building was still two years from completion, so they didn't have a place to play. In an effort to make the new team Tennessee's team instead of Nashville's team, the owner negotiated and announced plans to play the first two years at the Liberty Bowl Stadium in Memphis. Well, what he didn't really know or understand at the time was the "rivalry" (hatred is a better word) that existed between Nashville and Memphis. Accordingly, Memphis **** on the Oilers, and they played in front of an empty stadium all year. There was one exception to that: the last home game of the year. The Steelers came to town. Hard sellout, and everyone there were rooting for the Steelers. 60,000 black and gold.

Needless to say, they pulled out of the deal and played the second season in Vanderbilt's stadium before opening their current stadium.

I laugh every time I think about it.

What’s funny is me and the Catholic friends I grew up with hate ND. Like just below Ole Miss hate.
