I know it's out of state, but a friend swears the best bbq she's had is Jim's Smoking Que down in Blairsville, GA. Any of y'all ever been down there? She says they sell out sometimes.

I’ve been a few times. Bought a tee shirt that says something about smelling their butts for miles. It’s pretty good, kind of in the sticks a few miles on the other side of town from NC. Usually pretty crowded but also pretty good. Not sure I’d say best ever, but I have some eastern Nc roots and therefore tend toward that style. What are your thoughts on Bar B Que Wagon in your fine town of Bryson City? I like that they have a chopped option, but have only partaken twice and don’t feel that’s enough for a solid opinion.

The Wagon is a poor Que with a good (not great) sauce. The extra hot sauce makes the pork they serve edible but thats about it. Go to Dillsboro and get the good stuff at Haywood Smokehouse. If you're stuck in Bryson City you'd do better to head down the road to Nabors and get a burger. (double cheese burger all the way with onions... you can't go wrong!)

BBQ Wagon is just ok for me. Of course I remember the old one from down the road before she moved. The garlic hoagie is probably the best thing there with the gold sauce. I'll say it's good for Bryson City, but I won't drive out of my way to go there. But nowadays I usually only go through town during football season because I hate the tourists and how clueless they are.
