Dabo said no one had to go to the White House on June 12 th if they didn't want to . I think I would rather spend a day at the beach but that is just me .

Even though Obama was terrible, as evidence by destroying the Democratic Party for a generation- see thousands of lost seats at the Federal and State level. I would still love to go if he was still in office, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I can see that but honestly, this is a once-in-a-lifetime (maybe) experience. I would go just for that, and out of respect for the office of the President.
Same here. Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan - I'd still go, shake hands, be cordial. Once again - respect for the office and (as far as behavior once you're there) respect for the group you are representing (Clemson).
But if some do not want to go, that is their right. I expect some won't for political reasons, and some won't because they can't make it work logistically.
But besides, Trump has GOT to be a Clemson fan. He is orange, after all.....

I never liked Obama, but i respected him. He was the President of the US. I would have loved to have met him and shook his hand.

as you rightfully should have. and i would agree with you had the winner been rubio, kasich, bush, or one of those others whom i don't like but at least have a modicum of respect for. trump has done literally nothing to earn anyone's "respect" other than win an election based off of fear-mongering, populism, and dumbed down rhetoric. oh, and admit on tape to being a sexual assaulter. there is nothing sacred about him or the position of the presidency. **** him and anyone who supports him. i have no problems with the kids who do go, but i also think it's completely within reason to skip it.

I respected him b/c he was the president. Thats the only reason. I respect anyone in authourity positions. I was just raised that way. In a million yeas, Obama would never know how i really felt about him. I mean, i thought the guy was the worse leader of men ive ever seen in my life.

right, and that's retarded. because the US is no less susceptible to electing a leader who threatens the very idea of democracy any more than any other country. i don't think trump's anywhere near that level yet, but his behavior thus far in office, and during the campaign for that matter, has been enormously concerning.

I don't believe in the ideology of the Democratic party period. What's dumb is just because you don't agree with someone is to tell them to fu@k them and anyone to do the same. People with that view on any subject is the biggest problem.
hey, there's nothing wrong with someone being different or having a different view than you. Im no bigot, so i understand people are different and i dont try to convince them they are wrong.
But it's cool. No love lost here my man. i can promise you as a grown man, nothing you will ever say, will change my mind and i will never change yours. The difference is, i know that, so i wont even try. Again, i respect people.
this isn't a simple difference in ideology. this is a man who's shown to have complete disregard for the tenets of a free society. so yeah, trumpers (notice i didn't say republicans or true "conservatives," if those still exist) can go **** themselves.
i'd say people that voted for a quasi-fascist are the bigger problem, but that's just me.
