Interesting that East Tennessee State is also under consideration for ranking. Steve Forbes. II, you are dead on about this guy. Someone will grab him soon I’m sure.

Not to be picky, but why does the American web page list Houston first in the standings, when we beat them and are ahead of them based on the win-loss record between our two teams?

They don’t expect us to be there long.

FORT WORTH!!!! Time to make this all about the BLUE & GOLD!!!!!
DIckie's Arena in FW. Brand new place. Easy drive, tourney will be there next 3 years I believe. Is much better situation than having it at FedEx. Having the tourney on a team's home court is amateurish and janky. I agree. Let's turn the place blue and gold!

Super excited to attend the tournament in Fort Worth this year now that it appears like we'll be at least a top four seed. We've got as good a shot as anybody at winning that thing!

Regular season it is Overal Winning Percentage. For the Tournament seedings, Head To Head is the first tie breaker. Here is the thing though. We still play Houston again in Houston. We win and we don't have this conversation. We lose and we still don't have this conversation.

The AP Poll is out!

Houston - 21
Wichita State - 23
Memphis - with 11 votes
Tulsa - 3 votes
SMOOOOOO- 3 Votes

The Coaches poll should be out this afternoon.
Yeah, I already figured we'd get at least one vote. I'm thinking we get a few more votes by the AP.

Did I miss it or is there no Memphis anywhere on his list?

Lose to an unranked team on the road by 40 then follow that up with a loss to an unranked team at home loses all of your votes from voters paying attention.

It's hard to justify putting Memphis above Tulsa in the coaches poll. It's not like we beat them in a close game at home. 40 POINTS. I am claiming that we are a better TEAM than Memphis. They have a lot of individually talented guys, but they don't play as a team and they look lost when you start taking away their best players.

I believe it is three years. To be honest though I doubt it ever leaves. That's easy drive for Houston, Tulsa, Wichita St, SMU all of which have strong alumni base there as well.

It is also drivable for Memphis and Tulane. Its is a cheap and easy flight for them as well as Cincinnati or Temple.

Large metro population to draw casuals from, a conference of "name" programs they will recognize, and what should be a high level of competition to entertain. Dickies is the right sized arena as well as being completely neutral and brand new.

Beat UCONN in Connecticut and beat Temple in Philadelphia and they move you up 50 spots. In the media, those are the two crucial games for us each year.

As it turns out, the AAC's best teams are an easy drive to Ft. Worth (Tulsa, Houston, SMU, WSU, and Memphis). Attendance could be better than ever for the early games.

Alphabetical order for teams with like records whether their a crappy HS squad or not, but it's really the overall percentage.

Y’all have got me so hyped I’ve been checking into the cost of a trip to Ft. Worth in March. Right now, flight, hotel, tickets, car rental, it would be about $1200 plus food. If we look good for an at-large in late February I’ll gamble on a bid and save it for the dance but if we are still playing well but need the tournament championship you might see me in the stands.

I am seriously thinking of grabbing tickets and taking my daughter out of school on Friday and driving down for the Friday/Saturday/Sunday sessions. They're out of school the following week for Spring Break. Not sure I could get away with that with my wife...she'd probably want to go if we're still playing well and in the thick of things. We'll see. I want to get through the next 2 games.
