We sure could use a shooter and have a scholly available for a Grad Transfer. Don't know how receptive White would be to sharing minutes since he was the second leading scorer on Nebraska's team but he would be a welcome addition if was all in on the team concept.

Sounds perfect for us. But are we perfect for him? Former 4star ranked 42nd started off at Kansas. Transferred to Nebraska sat out his transfer season and played one season 17 points a game and 6 reb a game. Truth is if any situation can improve his draft stock. We offer exposure and a staff that the NBA respects and a head coach who will work to get you to the next level. Our one drawback is playing time. He won't get as many min here as most places. It's an odd situation. Come to UK potentially improve your basketball future but play less. Its all a matter of what he is looking for

Something that lingered from White’s conversations with NBA people was a question about why his team didn’t have a better record if he was NBA caliber. Nebraska finished 16-18 overall last season and 11th in the 14-team Big Ten at 6-12.

“Andrew desperately wants to win,” his father said. “There’s a correlation between winning and getting to the next level.”

So ur quoting his dad's statement in the newspaper article? To do what? Discredit him as a player? So your doubting that Whites word that when he was talking to teams and getting feed back that he was told that? He was a borderline talent. 6ft6 to 6ft7 wings that shoot decent are pretty common in college. I believe they were telling him they need to see him do that in a different environment. I don't know here is the link to the article maybe take issue with the teams he worked out for that told him thst. they are listed.

If he wants to win, then UK is the logical choice.

Love to have him, but as mentioned above, Briscoe, Fox, and Monk start at the 1-3, so is he willing to fight for minutes off the bench?

Easy to say, "I just want to win" but when it comes down to giving up minutes and touches, that usually goes out the windows.

There probably aren't many schools winning at a high level that have a scholarship open. Duke is full. I assume KU is off the board, since he already tried it there. UNC still has an outside shot at sanctions. UofL is up in the air. Zona has more wings than a B-Dubbs. MSU has almost as many wings as Zona.

Of course, he might just want to win 20+ and play in the tourney. Depends on how he defines winning. Our definition in BBN is a little different than most people's.

He would be a great piece added to our team. He would bring shooting and we can never have enough shooting on our team. I doubt the kid would like the fact that we are going to start 2 freshman guards and a SO. He won't get as much playing time here as he would at most schools he is considering. He would most likely be coming off the bench and add shooting to our lineup. He most likely will not beat out the 3 guards we will start this coming year. If he is fine with coming off the bench and playing less minutes, Kentucky is the place for him. While his minutes will take a dip and his role won't be as big as at most places, he would get the chance to win and win big here at Kentucky. If winning is important to the kid, no other school in the country can offer what we can. He's a talented player. I don't know if he would understand and be cool with his role here at Kentucky. If Cal and the kid both think different, i say bring him on and let's add depth to our team. His shooting touch would be great to have for this coming year. You ain't in Nebraska anymore, kid. If you come here you better know your role and play it and Cal will do his and your odds of going higher in the next Nba draft will increase. The Kentucky effect is a nice card to have to play later on in your career.

Is there any evidence supporting that UK is remotely interested in bringing him in?

It could work.

Fox - 30 mpg
Monk - 32 mpg
Briscoe - 32 mpg
Gabriel - 25 mpg
Bam - 30mpg


White/Willis/SKJ/Hawkins/Humphries - split the remaining 50 minutes or so.

White III is experienced and could certainly garner mins with his shooting and defense. If he were to come to UK he would certainly be a valuable asset. He's accustomed to competition for playing time because at KU he faced Ben McClemore and Andrew Wiggins. However, I'd say Maryland or Notre Dame are transfer front runners.

If so, then you fit him in.

8-man rotation. Four guards (Fox, Monk, Briscoe, White) and four forwards (Gabriel, Willis, Adebayo, Killeya-Jones). Something like this:

G Fox(30)/Briscoe(10)
G Monk(30)/Briscoe(10)
G Briscoe(10)/White(20)/Gabriel(10)
F Willis(25)/Gabriel(15)
F Adebayo(25)/Killeya-Jones(15)

Maryland is projected to be good next season but is full up on scholarships I think but Notre Dame has a couple or scholarships but they are projected like 8th in the acc and are def not a lock to make the tourney.

He is a 6ft7 220 according to more recent measurements. Kid could slide over and play some 4 if u needed somebody. I'm guessing Gabriel gets around 22 min a game. The guards in the high 20s I think you can find 25 min a game for him. He averaged 29min a game at Nebraska but 20 to 25min a game as a rotation player for UK gets him all the exposure he needs. We make a final four run then he definitely accomplished what he needed. Even if his stats are less than last year he will get the Kentucky effect.

I like it! Does he have a list yet? I'd be interested to see if UK makes the list/how UK stacks up winning wise against the other on the list. (Spoiler: UK stacks up pretty damn good)
