Just think, even IF we fire Fred, he'll still be able to say he's a 20x millionaire.... He's already got over 9 million in assets.I was not a Miles fan AT ALL, but he got a bad rap on that quote. He basically said it’s the DII and JUCO coaches whose families suffer when they got fired, while he would be fine. Poor choice of words perhaps, but taken out of context.
ADs excel at giving away other peoples’ money, and Bill Moos was at the head of the class in that department.Just think, even IF we fire Fred, he'll still be able to say he's a 20x millionaire.... He's already got over 9 million in assets.
What did he say to his hairdresser ?when Miles said, "if they fire me, I'll still be a millionaire."

I'm wondering where all the people are now who were screaming for us to "open up the checkbook" to hire Frost and an unknown basketball coach at the time?ADs excel at giving away other peoples’ money, and Bill Moos was at the head of the class in that department.
My head exploded when Frost got a contract extension. I absolutely screamed bloody murder. Guess who told me over and over again how wrong I was?I'm wondering where all the people are now who were screaming for us to "open up the checkbook" to hire Frost and an unknown basketball coach at the time?
The beautiful thing is that does not drive these guys.Just think, even IF we fire Fred, he'll still be able to say he's a 20x millionaire.... He's already got over 9 million in assets.

Hoiberg was paid in the top 1% of 1% of the US population when he was in Ames. He was in his hometown, coaching at his alma mater, was nicknamed “the mayor”and loved by everybody, had brought the Cyclones back to playing in tournament games, both he and his wife’s families lived there and were near their grandchildren, and gave that all up to scratch the itch of coaching in the pros.
These guys have egos and they want to be the next Mike Krzyzewski/Roy Williams or Nick Saban/Urban Meyer. The two dipsh*ts we have leading the two highest money making sports at Nebraska get to bask in the glory that their influence has taken Nebraska to depths rarely ever seen in the 100+ year existence at Nebraska. They are miserable and under immense stress - and they both deserve the hell they currently live in.
And whichever numbskull signed off on it from the ivory tower should be given his walking papers. Unfortunately we aren’t surrounded by very bright administrators.ADs excel at giving away other peoples’ money, and Bill Moos was at the head of the class in that department.
Who caresJust think, even IF we fire Fred, he'll still be able to say he's a 20x millionaire.... He's already got over 9 million in assets.
Miles was bad. Fred is worse. Hopefully after next year we'll hire a good coachwhen Miles said, "if they fire me, I'll still be a millionaire."

Good coaches have winning seasons more than 50% of the time - Fred has 6 such seasons in 12 years coaching, and none since 2015Hoieberg is a good coach, he just has recruited a good enough roster besides the McGowens and Walker ..
Walker needs help down low and Mayem isn’t that player..
My point is Hoieberg better coach than Miles despite his crap record..Good coaches have winning seasons more than 50% of the time
I strongly disagree. Tim Miles would coach circles around Hoiberg with all else equal. My point is Hoieberg better coach than Miles despite his crap record..
Need more Jimmy‘s and Joe’s and he hasn’t brought them in..

Don’t think so, I remember incarnate worldI strongly disagree. Tim Miles would coach circles around Hoiberg with all else equal.
we lost to the 6th place team in the summit league this yearDon’t think so, I remember incarnate world
He was a Washington State AD before. What did anyone ever expect? Remind me when WA State was good at any sport. Never really understood this hire. The frost extension was so incredibly stupid. He obviously hadnt earned it yet, but it wasnt like he was gonna leave. Bill moos was such an awful ad.
They’re the same ones that said to open the checkbook for Held and that Verdorko was a QB Whisperer. They’re still here waiting for the shirtless workout videos of their war daddies to start posting.I'm wondering where all the people are now who were screaming for us to "open up the checkbook" to hire Frost and an unknown basketball coach at the time?
we lost to the 6th place team in the summit league this year
incarnate word made the post season (CIT) the year we lost to them
I do not disagree both are beyond badDid you also forget Miles' losses to Gardner-Webb, Samford, and Kent State?
Fred is terrible, but Miles was a clown who tried distracting from his mediocre coaching abilities with goofy tweets, and dumb stunts like locking players out of the locker room. I am glad he's gone and back at the mid-major level where he belongs.

nice find. Now excuse me while I go wipe the egg off my face for excusing the extension when it happened. I was all in on Frost and still am to some degree. I haven't given up on him still but I am resigned the fact that he needs to win or he'll be gone. I have no great love for Scott Frost but I'm tired of the coaching turmoil that has been ours over the past 20 years. Clearly our AD, the BOR, Ronnie Green and the boosters of substance are in a similar position as mine.Since you are determined to play the Where are All Those People Now? game, here's an interesting thread that was posted right after Bill Moos played Santa Claus at the Frost household to the tune of an extra $10 million.
But, but.... a blogger said he was on the hot seat!
You could see instantly when Miles got ejected from the tournament against Baylor and Smith took over. We should have hired Smith but everybody always wants a big name.Tim Miles was a really good coach— when he had Craig Smith as his assistant running the offense. When he left, Tim couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag. Funny guy though.
Fred has a huge salary and is breaking records for sucking.I do not disagree both are beyond bad
I just think Hoiberg's particular flavor of terrible is worse than Miles' was
Smith was gone to South Dakota before we fired Miles. I'm not sure if he was considered when we hired Fred or not. Smith was at USD for 4 years I think, then 3 at Utah State and now is at Utah. They've only got 7 or 8 wins so he might be available again soon....You could see instantly when Miles got ejected from the tournament against Baylor and Smith took over. It's Smith's first year at Utah and their best players transferred out when Krystowiak got fired, so nobody was going to win there in 2022. He'll get at least a couple more years.Smith was gone to South Dakota before we fired Miles. I'm not sure if he was considered when we hired Fred or not. You're still all N on Frost? Ha! I'm not even sure what that is supposed to mean, but it is funny.nice find. Which coach is the first to have a 20 loss season? Which is the first to have it 3 years in a row?Don’t think so, I remember incarnate world
In other words, after Smith was gone, Miles looked a lot like FH.Tim Miles was a really good coach— when he had Craig Smith as his assistant running the offense. When he left, Tim couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag. Funny guy though.
I’d take any of Miles teams in a heartbeat over what Fred has put on the court while he’s been in Lincoln. My 9th grade city team was more disciplined and, I’m quite sure, better coached.Did you also forget Miles' losses to Gardner-Webb, Samford, and Kent State?

Miles got us to the tourneyWe can debate Miles vs Fast Freddy all day long. Bottom line is it really doesn’t matter because both failed to get us to a tournament game. Neither is worth a damn in big boy basketball.
