Today, President Biden and fellow G7 Leaders agreed to a set of concrete actions to accelerate the global transition away from coal generation as part of our efforts to combat the climate crisis.

Accelerating Decarbonization and Transition from Unabated Coal: Confronting the climate crisis presents a historic opportunity to drive our economic recovery, create millions of good-paying union jobs, and build back better as we invest in a more resilient, prosperous, equitable, and secure future. Recognizing that unabated coal power generation is the single biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions globally, and consistent with President Biden’s domestic leadership, G7 Leaders will commit to an end to new direct government support for unabated international thermal coal power generation by the end of this year. To support key developing countries in their transitions away from unabated coal, Canada, Germany, the UK, and the United States will also include a new collective commitment to provide up to $2 billion to support the work of the Climate Investment Funds focused on accelerating the transition from coal for key developing countries while investing in technology, job training, and infrastructure to enable the transition to a more reliable and prosperous clean energy economy.

How about every country minds its own business and doesn't come together to scam the world? "Leaders" is about the last word to use to describe these clowns. Any average citizen could do their job 10 times better.

Good luck without Congress.

Nope. Not a word about them and they burn more coal than the G7 combined!

Scam.

China is actually doing a lot to combat and decline coal use. They actually go into cites and shut down companies where the air is too bad. They have been getting progressively more strict on air pollutants, plastics, etc. I mean if you were curious about real life as opposed to political talking points and general blind hatred.

Not out of the concern for the planet. They have stolen a **** ton of intellectual property from the world. They will have communist wages mixed with slave labor built in. Sell it cheaper back to the world and make alot of money because no one can compete against that. Everybody except them gets screwed. That is everyone who isn't in bed with them.

At present, nearly two-thirds of all solar panel equipment is produced in China.

Regardless of the overlying reason, they understand that the current system is unsustainable. Whether its for the environmental health or their own self interest is a completely different topic. As far as intellectual property, every country does the exact same thing, they try to steal what they think is being done better by someone else. American companies do it to other companies every single day. Its not right no matter who os doing it, but pretending that they are the only ones doing it is incredibly naive.

I read this same point of view on Chinese State media. They are controlled by the CCP. If we are going to eventually go green as the technology improves I would rather some of this stuff was made in West Virginia. Now if you can get behind that then I won't assume you're a communist traitor. Know what I mean. [winking]

You are the part of the problem. The inability to see that your side makes a lot of the same mistakes that you "hate" the other side for means no one ever solves anything.
My side is Anti-Communist and pro jobs for Americans. I don't have "A PROBLEM" that can't be cured by decoupling from the CCP and persuading the rest of the world to join.

I completely agree with that. I would absolutely love if WV made a move towards producing more of this type of thing. WV in my opinion should be more focused on training towards future proof jobs instead of trying so hard to hold onto jobs that the whole planet is trying to phase out. I think the government needs to find a way to get education (training) to the general public who could be mispalced job wise with new technology. It should be government assisted as its an investment in the people of west Virginia. I believe WV is some of the most beautiful land in the entire world with the best people. The government needs to invest in those people even if they have to drag them kicking and screaming the whole way. Because as amazing as most people in WV are, they are also extremely stuborn.

A lot of the issues with jobs in America is caused by America, not other countries. Explain to me why it is cheaper for me to buy a snickers, a coke, or McDonald's in china than it is in america? And before you tell me low wages in china, also then explain why it is I can go to an all you can eat all you can drink BBQ restaurant in china, eat whatever i want, drink tall boy Heineken bottles until i decide to stop and my bill comes out to less than $12 American? Yes, wages are lower here, but cost of living ( and living a pretty good life) is a fraction of what it is in america.

That's my point. However you can't compete with communist economically. The world must decouple from the CCP. You also can't shut down peoples current jobs without putting the infrastructure in first. That's the problem. Improve the technology, Bring the jobs, Get the education technical schools rolling. Then people will listen. Until then nobody wants to hear suck it up.

Agree with that as well. I dont have the answers as to how to implement it, as i dont have access to that type of information or technology, but the state government does, theu just need to start xaring more about what is best for the future of the state instead of what will get me reelected tomorrow.

You start by stop doing business with the CCP. The rest of it isn't rocket science. However it won't work until we do step one.

You start by fixing what is fundamentally broken in America, which is profit at any cost is the norm in America. There is zero excuse for me to be able to buy American products in china cheaper than in America. Thats not chinas fault, that is americas fault. I would much rather we were able to not do so much business with china, but the current corporate setup in america just doesnt make that possible. And the sad part is that the people here in china that are making what americans consider slave labor are living much better lives than people in america make 2x or 3x what they do.

Again not talking points, actual real life experience. You should try it some day. It refreshing to be able to come up with your own opinions and conclusions based on what you can personally experience as opposed to what someone tells you to believe about a thing or place youve never seen or been to. Kind of like it would be a shame if all these recruits just listened to what everyone wants them to believe about west Virginia instead of actually coming here and seeing how it really is for themselves. See how that works?

How'd you like the government dictating how many kids your Wife can have? If you both wanted and were Blessed with a little girl...in China you'd have to kill her or the Chi coms would kill YOU!

I mean if you were curious about real Life as opposed to political talking points and general uninformed Left wing propaganda.
