Most fan bases get carried away over wins and losses. Few are as oblivious to their place in the college football hierarchy as Tennessee fans.

They think they naturally belong at Alabama/LSU level and that the only thing keeping them from being there is whoever the coach is at the time.

Except they have resources, lots of money and the facilities to recruit. Get lucky with the right coach and the fact that they are in the weaker sec East means they can compete fast.

But that isn’t what they are. If you look at their history they are a 7 or 8 win team in good years, except for the aberration that was the Fulmer era. The fans act like they are traditionally a top program but they aren’t.

Honestly, Rutgers needs to throw in a rider that if he throws his name out there for every job opening he can be fired without penalty. We don’t need that BS after every winning season again.
