We just finished Man in the High Castle. What a **** ending. Loved the series very disappointed in the last two episodes.

We are wanting to start a new series.

Jack Ryan
The Expanse
The Boys

We haven’t seen any of the old ones so Sneaky Pete is a possibility too.

The Boys is great.. and i'm on season 2 of Jack Ryan, another good one.

I'd start with The Boys since you could knock it out relatively quick. Interesting take on super heroes.

Bosch is good. I need to re-up as a new season was put out in 2019.

We liked Jack Ryan. But I’d highly recommend Goliath. We loved that show and the first two seasons were incredible. 3rd was alright but the first two were some of the best television I’ve ever seen

Peaky Blinders is criminally underrated.

The Expanse is the best SciFi on TV right now.
Marvelous Ms. Maisel has some of the best writing you'll see anywhere.

All three of those are good.

I really enjoyed Carnival Row which is a recent release.

Currently reading Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari

That isn’t an activity I can do with my wife. We like having a show to watch together. We also walk and have a healthy diet*

I thought the boys was really good. Gave a very unique spin on “super heroes” and probably what they would be like should they actually exist in the real world.

Marvelous Miss Maisel

Seriously. It’s hilarious and really good. Especially seasons 1& 2. Three took a while to get moving but ended well.

You're all bugmen.. Outside of live sports, "entertainment" is just social programming.

Man, it’s the first day of a new year. Let people enjoy what they like to enjoy. I read every day for a living. If I want to watch a well-written show at the end of the day for a $8.00 a month subscription it’s okay.

Oh, and I liked Sneaky Pete and still say Justified is one of the best series ever. It stayed strong through its entire run.

Jack Ryan:

Season 1 was terrible, season 2 is worse. In season 1 a secret military base has worse security than McDonald's after than morning rush. Sending a USCG helicopter to pick up a low level employee who is only a hour or so away? They could have drove that 2 or 3 times by the time it took to gen up that mission. The Special Forces Mercenary leader in season 2 was in charge of the security of said base...thank goodness he took a dirt nap in season 2. The worst "operator" ever. Maybe he was preoccupied with his duties as the Bud Light King and Dad from season 2 of Castle Rock.

The plot of the entire 2nd season was mindless, a US senator assassinated on foreign soil and no one seems concerned? A third world dictator being concerned about an election? A group of low level CIA desk jockeys (none were field agents) and mercenaries storming a foreign capital with no authority?

Goliath and Bosch. Not prime but Reprisal on Hulu is good. Abigail Pencer is great in it

I watched the 1st episode of season one and it never caught me. I just couldn't see John Krasinski playing the Jack Ryan character or Wendell Pierce playing his character. Both miscast in my opinion.

Have read all the Harry Bosch novels and Titus whatever hell is the actor's name IS Harry Bosch...and the series follows the novels very well.

I don't think I saw it mentioned on here, so I'll pitch it... Patriot is hands down the best Amazon series that no one has heard of. There are only two seasons, but both are solid. It's a dark comedy, spy thriller, quasi-musical that has a real Wes Anderson vibe. One of the most original shows I've ever seen.

It was so bad you watched both seasons?

The plot of season 1 was actually good, it has some technical fails, but unless you have knowledge of military operations, those fails wouldn't bother you. The plot of season 2 made no sense whatsoever. The villain from season 1 was a great character, they could have gotten a ton of mileage out of him.

What does everyone think of The Expanse? I had it recommended to me with the warning that you just have to get through the first two SEASONS and then it gets good. ....I don’t think I could stick around that long.

The Boys is really good. My is watching Dowtown Abby while I am reading. Boring for me, you might like it. I can only take so much stuck up Brits from the early 20th Century.

Jack Ryan is good.

I am a fan, but I have also read the novels. I can see the early series being frustrating for someone who isn't quite sure what to expect. If you liked Babylon 5 you'll like The Expanse.
