I literally had a dream that this happened a couple nights ago. I should go to Vegas.

Can you blame him? Our offense didn't complete a pass to s wide receiver a few weeks ago and last week threw just 10 passes. Who wants to play in that offense? Star freshman Bo Melton has 1 catch all season. Complete waste.

Ash needs to figure the offense out quicker or he will lose complete control of the narrative with recruits (if that already hadn't happened6.

because the system allows him to. can't blame a kid for doing what he feels is best for his future. we would have our kids do the same.

think of it as transferring.

They ran for 280 yards against Illinois, and you're complaining they didn't pass enough?

we don't have the luxury of winning pretty games right now, any win is a huge positive. If gio has 100 passing yards and we beat Purdue, that's ok with me.

Yeah. With the way the offense is right now it would be a pretty easy negative recruiting job. Not to mention we moved our top wideout from last year to d.

But we got a win...and it's only one week. I doubt that one game is what changed his mind. Based on your theory, we should be seeing more committments from running backs then???.

You beat me to it..just posted that..a minute late and a dollar short I suppose.

Didn't we just read about their school and coach, and how Rutgers treats them well...and the great relatuonship??? yada yada yada. Well there goes that pipeline.

I'm just giving logical rationale for why a WR recruit would want to decommit.

I think he decommited because he watched a very ineffective offense so far this season. We had a game where we didn't complete s single pass to a WR. Bo Melton has gone to waste. We barely throw in games.

I'm not saying RU should change its offense (we did get a win) but you can't blame a WR for not wanting to be part of this.

For someone who lists academics as a top priority that was poorly written.
Easy on him. Sometimes wenn writting abowt yure emosions, grammer and speling go out the windough. S

Seriously, sometimes it is difficult to piece together words when you are writing something that is based on an emotional decision.

Personally, wish all recruits would leave the praying stuff out, as it makes it sound like God or some higher power hates Rutgers and informed the recruit to go elsewhere.

Oh, and worst possible scenario. . . .

Keeping a commit probably does not hinge on winning or losing the next game. A real pattern of being a winning or losing program, sure that matters

In years of losing a lot more games than winning, expect any and all of our 5.7 verbals to be approached, and possibly tempted to de commit You look at the list of the best verbals we have and hope we can hang on

Trust me, I get being frustrated with the offense, but pump the brakes a bit. "Bo Melton has gone to waste." Are you kidding me? Dude is halfway into his true freshman year. You're statement is beyond ridiculous.

Get the sense that there is a constant flow of analysis & envisioning & aspiration going on around this recruit - as one article said - "his father recalls his life as a player and advises his son" ... there is no doubt that the unshakable expectation within his inner circle is that he will be playing on Sundays - and most likely as a receiver - so it is not surprising that he has possibly been enticed by a program that is more passing oriented... must make sense to his inner circle to pick a program that will be most likely to showcase his talents ...

Bo is only a few games into his college career, the offense isn't great but he's getting playing time and field experience. His role will increase with time, its still very early, and short-sighted, to say any 18 year old kid is "gone to waste"

Some see trouble, some see opportunity. Maybe he didn't see opportunity.

I am not at all tied into recruiting, and I heard about him decommitting at least a week and a half ago. Surprised it took so long to make his announcement.

Anyone that gets excited about verbal commitments hasn't been paying attention during the past several years (not just RU or football, but all college sports).
not only that.social media, peer pressure, and family buzzin around makes a kid think he might of jumped the gun,and should have waited for that big time offer...such is life in 2017 it works both ways. wish the kid luck in the future

Ouch. Strong offer list.
Not good.
Strong offer list? Wisconsin and Maryland passed on him. Rutgers had no choice to take him with him being in their backyard. The kid committed at a night club for god's sake. Its tons of receivers. Y'all need to be worrying about O'Neal cuz the gators offer has gotten some attention.

But what, he saw a well run offense last season and that's why he committed when he did? These kids aren't blind they know this team doesn't have a great offense right now but that just means they can come in and play right away and make a difference...it's not like we are running a triple option like army where the game plan is to not pass the ball very many times...he would get to play with JLewis who will be throwing the ball all over the field in a couple of years...

"Pasted"?, that there is some southern speak...sounds like how Amad's decommitment tweet was written

Having HS senior in the house, what is surprising is that so many commits follow through to sign. I would be happy if the same school was on top two months in a row.

Best of luck to him.

I guess "strong" is relative. I didn't say he had elite offers, but for RU FB recruiting we would love to beat Wisky, NC St , MD (under Durkin) for him, and Syracuse and VA are not programs we can take for granted in recruiting. Not sure about who or why the offering schools may have "passed" on him--I think that's what you mean(?).

Don't think Brohm is leaving after only a year.
Could you envision a scenario where Petrino leaves or gets fired, and Louisville ponies up big $$ to hire Brohm and he bolts?
Purdue and Rutgers are probably two of the three or four worst places to coach in the B1G. The Louisville gig is sweetness compared to coaching a little brother in the B1G.
