Watching the Iowa game, AM would struggle a bit as he went to stand up after hitting the ground. You could tell something was hurting.Yes he took a shot and landed on it funny. And yes he was wearing that for most of the year
Yes. And if you go back and watch film, he normally tries to land on his stomach. Doesn't like to get smacked in such fashion where he lands on that shoulder. Another indicator why he steps out of bounds rather than taking or giving a shot for extra yardsWatching the Iowa game, AM would struggle a bit as he went to stand up after hitting the ground. Well the Colorado injury, come on now...I guess my concern going forward is how injury prone is this guy? Didn't play his senior season in HS due to injury. Was out and played through some injuries last year. Injured much of the year this year.
Excuses? The young man just had surgery. So he must have had a significant enough injury that rest and rehab couldn’t fix it. And given how his play this year was down from last year, to the point of looking like a different player, the injury “excuse” makes the most sense. Here come the excuses. Im sure this will be Frost and Co's excuse for starting him over LMC next year.
I don't see anyone making excuses in this thread. help us out and quote one, won't you? Here come the excuses. Im sure this will be Frost and Co's excuse for starting him over LMC next year.

I have zero issue with anyone on here who wants to criticize Frost. I have done it myself. But come on... we don’t get to just make **** up either.
Easy there, shooter... AM didn’t look good this year. Sometimes that’s physical, sometimes it’s mental, but he took a step back from where he was last year. Here come the excuses. Im sure this will be Frost and Co's excuse for starting him over LMC next year.
If he was so injured why was he playing? Guys play injured all the time. Frost is ride or die with Martinez til he graduates. We will see better QBs than AM leave because of it, not questioning the kid's toughness but maybe SF shouldve been the adult in the room and told him to sit and get healthy cause he sure as **** wasnt helping things on the field.Excuses? Ok. Thanks for sharing your intimate knowledge. Why are we even recruiting QBs that are gonna leave? We should use those scholarships for linebackers. If he was so injured why was he playing? Being a new fan to the huskers and all, I’m not sure how many games do you saw this year. Every quarterback was injured this year… it’s not rocket science. My only problem and I'm sure others feel the same is......IF he was so hurt this year why was he playing so damn much and NOT resting getting healthy??!
You telling me between the QB group we have (who I keep hearing is the best crop we ever had).....NOBODY else was good enough to play??? You leave the poor guy out there to embarrass himself and risk further damage mentally and physically?
Something is not adding up and didn't all year....
he missed games. the others played. we lost every one of them, including the biggest ***-kicking of the year.My only problem and I'm sure others feel the same is......IF he was so hurt this year why was he playing so damn much and NOT resting getting healthy??!

Don't see how I missed this.
Some injuries your choices are just "gut it out" or "your season is over and you get the surgery next week." Playing on a shoulder that needs surgery is really common in football. My only problem and I'm sure others feel the same is......IF he was so hurt this year why was he playing so damn much and NOT resting getting healthy??!

I think the proper response to this sentiment is, he won’t.Sure hope Luke is given a fair chance to compete for the starting job.
unless someone else is named the starter, it will never be a 'fair chance'.I think the proper response to this sentiment is, he won’t.
Frost sucks and is in over his head. He’s worse than Mike Riley. We’re doomed.
I think the biggest difference was AM’s injury was an upper body injury, while everyone else was lower body. It’s a lot harder to fake it when you don’t have mobility. The following comment has nothing to do with Adrian and his toughness, and has almost certainly already been said, but I’ll ask again because I think it’s legitimate... if Martinez was injured badly enough to need surgery after the season, why continue to play him? Other QB’s may have been injured to some extent. How bad, if so, was Vedral’s? Could he not take over for Adrian? Luke seemed fine at the end of the year, but the redshirt dilemma was a factor. It just seems that Adrian’s injury had a noticeable impact on his level of play.
And another issue... if he was injured that bad, why not throw the kid a bone and divulge it? It’s not like defenses didn’t know how to defend us anyway. As it was, Frost left Adrian in the trenches taking grenades.
My opinion anyway.
Who says this? You telling me between the QB group we have (who I keep hearing is the best crop we ever had)....

1971: Jerry Tagge, Senior; Van Brownson, Senior; Steve Runty, Sophomore; David Humm, Sophomore (sitting as a redshirt).Who says this?
With limited thinking I quickly put senior Tommie and Brook ahead of this group. Sure there are other years as well.
In a few years with a possibly senior Adrian, RS Soph McCaffrey, and a RS frosh? Smothers? Yeah that group could be up there.
Don't forget when Martinez, McCaffrey and Vedral were all banged up at one point this year. Regarding the calls for "why was he playing"? Remember that the plan all along was to redshirt McCaffrey. So if you assume the Iowa game should have had Martinez on the bench, and in the off chance they win, then he has to come back in as the starter for the bowl game.My only problem and I'm sure others feel the same is......IF he was so hurt this year why was he playing so damn much and NOT resting getting healthy??!

Well our other QB's had injuries too, you do know that right? And the idea that Frost is "ride or die" with Martinez makes no sense what so ever. Frost recruited Luke and Noah, just like he did AM. They are all his guys and he wants to win, so I assume they will play the guy they think gives them the best chance. And if AM wins the job it will be because they think he gives them the best chance to win, not because of some crazy conspiracy theory. If he was so injured why was he playing? Guys play injured all the time. Frost is ride or die with Martinez til he graduates. I believe Frost knew exactly what he was doing, a direct contrast to what several on this board seem to believe. Let's see how Martinez recovers and assume there's an open competition next season, I think we'll see more about what the Huskers are all about next year. Throw in an improving Mills, a season under his belt Wandale (maybe a senior season for Spielman)... this might not be as doom and gloom as people are expecting.
And some guy named Scott Frost running the scout team.1971: Jerry Tagge, Senior; Van Brownson, Senior; Steve Runty, Sophomore; David Humm, Sophomore (sitting as a redshirt).
1982: Turner Gill, Junior; Bruce Mathison, Senior; Nate Mason, Junior; Craig Sundberg, Sophomore.
1995: Tommie Frazier, Senior; Brook Berringer, Senior; Matt Turman, Junior.
You're an idiot. Here come the excuses. Im sure this will be Frost and Co's excuse for starting him over LMC next year.
same genius who cites iowa's continuity as a reason for their success while calling for frost's head 2 years in.
too bad there isn't a surgery for head-up-his-***-itis.
I would agree that there's probably A LOT of other factors/things going on. I think everyone expected year 2 play to be much better than it was considering how things looked as a true freshman coming in and his performance last year.I would be my family's farm in Germany, and take the over in whatever the O/U it would be in this situation, that it's more than just a surgery going on. I think something is going on personally and mentally to him. His body language on the field took a 180 from his freshman season.
To the question of why Frost and Verduzco continued to stick with him, I have no idea.
I'm not sure I would be making fun just yetI think the proper response to this sentiment is, he won’t.
