...it's possible that McCaffrey and his "advisors" have stated that Luke is to play QB almost exclusively? To limit his plays at RB or Duck so he doesn't get banged up. I personally don't understand not inserting him in the offense more, like in the OSU game. Unless it's the Husker staff protecting their 2nd string guy.

I’ve thought of that also but then my brain tells me that frost is just freaking stubborn

Wonder if Adrian’s durability is why we are seeing less of Luke. Meaning Adrian always gets a minor ding. Luke playing wr/rb opens him up to more injury

It’s coaching scared.

I honestly don’t know what to think. He’s a tremendous asset yet we only use him 2 snaps a game? His father has to know that he’s not a good quarterback and his future isn’t there. Maybe the McCaffrey household thought that AMart would have transferred by now but that’s not happening. I can’t see both remaining as QBs next year. If that holds true it will have to be McCaffrey to either switch positions or find greener pastures. Hopefully we keep him and he’s in a situation where he can thrive.

Mcaffrey is a worse passer than Martinez, which is hard to imagine for a D1 qb in the Big 10.

No, not "nuff said" Ga.....what would you think if the McCaffrey Clan is asking Nebraska Football to not put their boy in harmful playing positions because he came to Nebraska to play quarterback?
If true, it would be time to tell him goodbye and good luck.

Maybe McCaffrey doesn’t want to play receiver until we have a qb who can hit him in stride?

This is a hard one for me. If he is really legitimately our number 2 or 1B QB, then he probably shouldn't be out there alot other than QB outside of some situational plays. If there's a big drop-off after him in QB play, and especially if Martinez's durability is a question, you're risking quite a bit by playing him alot not at QB.

At the same time, its hard to justify keeping his athleticism off the field.

Very reasonable answer. Do you think this is "coaching scared" as The Jaysker stated?

I'd say Luke is a solid 2 at this time. I figure if we're gonna suck, we should suck less with Luke as starter. Play to his strengths. It's up to Frost to call the game to win football games. He's failing.

Do you really think Frost would be dictated too like that ? I don't. I think Luke would do anything to help the team but it's Frost keeping him at QB a

The staff gave Luke 2 years to prove he was a QB when they recruited him. After this year it will

Adrian at qb and Luke at RB was by far our best chance to win more games this year. That the coaching staff didn't use that more when it proved to work at Ohio St tells me all I need to know about this staff. It's not like McCaffrey couldn't try to win the qb job next year, but it's obvious he wasn't ready this year.

The person I heard that from is a player from
The 07 team. Been right many times but been wrong a few as well. But wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what he was told. But a qb who can’t throw is not what the offense needs. Don’t care how well you run.
And verduzco doesn’t teach them to throw more accurately so Frost needs to realize that ASAP.
