Am I seeing this right?

Got a email that reads less than 2,000 seats available for the home opener. If that’s true I am both shocked and pumped that people still give a flip about TU basketball!

This is awesome. He's going to get this rolling sooner than later, just have to learn how to win.

Invite a friend or neighbor. Konkol ball is contagious and Carson/Dickson are striving to make game day experience even better.
When you are looking for exactly the right coach to heal a program that has not
been relevant in a long time, where interest is down, attendance is down, and
there seems to be little direction, you need more than a good coach....You need
a magician.....The ol' proverbial "needle in a haystack"

This guy has all of the gifts.. He really seems to love what he is doing, and his
energy, as you say, is truly contagious......What a wonderful transformation!

It's fun again!!

Collegiate athletics is more of a circus, and I think we've got a great mix with Carson as Ringmaster, Rick as the talent scout and promoter, and Konkol is their main attraction along with his cast of supporting performers which since he's been on the job he has gotten right to developing and recruiting to increase the appeal and grow his act. I've got the feeling this is a special time.

Hopefully when it's all over, we'll be able to refer to Konkol as 'The 2nd Coming of Nolan Richardson'.

Give me 40 minutes of hell. I am 100% a defensive minded player/coach. Always have been...now my background is in baseball and I coached softball. Defense is much more important at younger ages so you have to be defensive minded. I know people in basketball love high scores...I love it to...when it's my team because we just knocked them all over the place on defense. When every one of their players is hitting the ice bath after the game because they are just sore from being worked over. Let's average 80 points a game while keeping them to 60.

I have been on this message board since the AZ times in 1998 I think. This is the most positive I have seen the board since the Cincinnati second round win in 2000. And to make it more impressive, we just lost our first game of the season and it seemed to have little or no impact on the enthusiasm for the future. Chris should get ready for a nice increase in readership for the Alley. A lot of good articles about the new signees and the future over there too.

I'll take the product being like Nolan, Tubby, or Self. If he can get the city involved like Nolan that would be a huge plus.

Called friends to alert them that it may sell out and not wait until Saturday

TU needs to get word out to the media to make it a sellout before Saturday

I went and looked at the seating chart for Saturday. Given how many people usually walk up to buy tickets, I will be shocked if it isn’t a sellout.

Which is absolutely crazy that home game 1 for Konkol, coming off a loss, against a no-name opponent, is going to be a sellout or damn near close.

The opener was so fun I planned to make the 12-hour round-trip drive for Saturday’s game but my son’s indoor soccer schedule was released on Tuesday and he plays that morning. He’d be ok with me missing it… if I wasn’t the coach.

I am pumped to see Don Rey on TV still though!

That is completely awesome!!!

There may be more people watching the bb game than the upcoming fb game…..
Crap. I guess I won't be able to occupy my stolen and previously unoccupied seat in the disabled section. I like sitting up there because I get a good view of the game, and can easily get to concessions(give me another beer) or bathroom.

(My seat is usually somewhere lower in the section below. At least half the seats, usually more, are not used. With a full house, most or all of em might be occupied. Anything over 60% occupancy & I don't like to go there, for fear I might take a seat from somebody who needs it for more than an easy/quick access beer.)

I'll take one for the team on this, and be happy/ecstatic bout it.

Be sure to download the new TU app they just put out. Looks like it’ll sync your phone lights up with the light show
