when I perform Country Roads at nearly every gig here in Florida or anywhere for that matter. Someone will come up and say "I'm from (somewhere) in West Virginia or I graduated from WVU in (year.) We then talk about Mountaineer football and basketball and what's coming up. So cool. Ties me back to home.

I get the same reaction when I'm wearing WV clothing which is about 95% of the time.

I've been to 56 countries and 44 states and have been stopped and chatted with on every continent in the world that isn't covered in icecaps. We ask each other where we're from and then talk as if we've known each other forever. Mountaineers have a close bond with each other.
