During the Purdue game, Seth Davis mentioned that RU doesn't have a true alpha dog.

From a fan point of view, I love that this is not anyone in particular's team. Team basketball is much more fun to watch and root for. Not that I know any of the players but I feel like I like each of them. This is not always the case when you have a superstar and a supporting cast.

But the question that still remains is do you need an alpha dog to win at a high level? If so, who is going to develop into the alpha dog for us?

Alpha dogs on our team is a democracy. Could be anyone. But if I had to pick one it’d be Geo.

It’s Geo, he has made big shots time and time again. The one with the shot clock running down against (I believe) Indiana. Nebraska. The one with the shot clock running down against Purdue.

Agree with this. And I'll add the leadership he showed while he was out was great. It almost felt like he willed "his guys" to important wins in his absence.

(Imo) what is unique and possibly exceptional about this team is our "alpha dog" doesn't need 15 shots a game or even to be in the starting lineup to prove he is the alpha. He just is. My favorite player since Douby.

What is an alpha dog? is it the guy you want to have the ball in his hands at crunch time at the end of a close game? That could be Caleb, Geo or RH IMO. I'd go with RH although Geo has proven he can be that guy too. Guess its match-up driven with this team but I'm no hoops expert.

If you have 3 alphas dogs, you don't have any.

Thinking of last years final 4, three teams clearly had a dominant player in Okeke, Cassius Winston, and Culver. Virginia probably didn't have a single alpha dog but they did have 3 NBA caliber guards which maybe something that RU can become.

Buggin. Geo all day. RH and Caleb have not proven they can make clutch shots. Geo has done it almost a dozen times.

The Warriors in the NBA did not have a true Alpha dog. Yes, extremely talented but not like the Lebron led teams. If anyone is the alpha dog though it is Geo

Geo has shown the willingness and ability to hit late game shots. I hope we don't rely on only Geo step back 3's in every close game though

Was Seth Davis saying it was a bad thing not to have an alpha dog? I didn’t hear the comment but what was the context?

Otherwise like others here I have to agree that if we have one at all it’s Geo. He’s also the most veteran Scarlet Knight, as he has been on the banks the longest. It would have been Eugene had he stayed.

Seth Davis, is a low level sports douche who fancies himself an anthropologist. One thing is for sure, he is not an alpha anything including a douchebag. He even sucks at that.

Why is douchebag underlined when I type it? When I right click it suggests douche-bag or douche bag. Somebody fix this please. I don't need spell check and I don't need incorrect squiggly lines under perfectly legitimate words, that I invented.

Geo is a true captain that has led from the court and the bench. If an alpha dog is someone who can lead a team to victory, he's our man.
Smart and unselfish.
I really think he has zero problem watching others get points and the accolades from the fans.
