She's playing in the Bank of Hope match play in Las Vegas. Just took a 1-up lead through 14 holes (not sure if this is a live broadcast or recorded, but it's on the Golf Channel now).

Have been here since Sunday the 16th working this tournament. She’s been absolutely awesome on 18. In her last 3 matches(all wins), she broke two ties with her putter on 18, and came from one back and forced a tie and sudden death, which she won on the 19th hole. Beat the favorite, MGM-sponsored local girl who was a huge part in this event ever becoming a thing yesterday. This(Shadow Creek) is an MGM property and basically the home course for her. She was 4-0 before Ally left her 4-1.
That said, this format is an absolutely brutal way to play golf. Especially with it being the weekend before a major. This course is ~ 6.8 miles to play 18 with a good bit of elevation change. 3 days of 18 hole round robin pool play followed by two days of 36 hole knock out play to win. So she’s teeing off her 6th round right now and will play 7 regardless(there is a 3rd place match).
I love Vegas but if I never stay on the strip again, it’ll be fine with me. Will be 19 nights in MGM Grand by the time I’m out of here.

To put into perspective just how well Ally is playing...
- the top 3 players in the world were in this event and have been eliminated.
- Ally went 2 holes down to world #6 Danielle Kang after 3 holes with two early bogeys. Kang was basically playing her home course outside Vegas, had not trailed at any point in her previous 4 matches and is known as a fierce match play competitor.
Ally proceeded to make an eagle and 7 birdies with a bogey to go 8 under over the final 15 holes. She beat Kang on 18 with a birdie putt.
Kang shot 6 under without a bogey and lost.

Also found it interesting that she was on the putting green all by herself bright and early this morning as I was making checks and firing back up scoreboards.

Had a feeling the wheels might come off of Jutanugarn. She looked like death warmed over after her match yesterday.

That was quite a win over Danielle Kang, and Danielle didn't seem happy at all during her post-round interview yesterday. It took her a while to get around to complimenting Allie on her win, and Danielle is normally a pretty gracious person.
Allie said after the win yesterday that she didn't have many fans pulling for here, but there were some. Engie, you must have been one of them.
Just an observation - Allie seems to be in a lot better shape than she was last time I saw her. She's dropped several pounds. Didn't seem to have much trouble getting around the course, and now she's got to do it a second time today. It'll be on at 5:30 Central. Should be fun to watch.

If you've never seen her play and have any interest this is the time to watch. With only 4 players on the course and her in the championship match, you're sure to see every shot she hits from the time they come on air.
Win or lose, she'll leave Vegas as one of the Top 20 or so female players in the world. State hasn't had a lot of graduates that accomplished in their chosen profession

She will leave here with several hundred grand minimum as well. Also noticed how her conditioning has seemed better than most out here in a situation that is a lot more brutal than your usual golf. Has me tempted to go put a few dollars on her before I leave for the US Women’s Open next week, but I won’t be back to Vegas till this time next year so I probably won’t.
In my travels, there’s almost never a course without at least one Dawg in the maintenance dept. Haven't confirmed one here, but I’ve rocked a lot less maroon than usual with the heat. Lol she’s definitely aware I’m a state fan at this point though.

Maybe she's already done so, but a win (or even second place today, which is the worst possible now) should solidify her spot on the Solheim Cup.

She's doing well so far today - won the first 2 holes so 2 up, but is in bunker on the 3rd. Probably will halve this hole.
Apparently they didn't televise the start of the final round today. They're on the 9th hole now. They must've started showing about the 5th hole.
Walking 30-36 holes in 100 degree weather will take it out of you. Ally just about didn't get out of that bunker on 9. I wouldv'e had to be airlifted out.
It's possible, but has a few requirements, a couple being that you have to stay in the MGM Grand, and you have to arrive at the course in a limo. Slope rating is 145.

The match official didn't come very well prepared - no coin in his pocket, and nothing to measure who putts first.
He told me I was first on his list.* But Engie might get an invite since he's working the tournament.
