I don't like to talk bad about our players, but couldn't help but notice that the first time DA was inserted into the game, the player he was assigned to guard took him to the woodshed with a long 1 on 1 drive resulting in a wide open layup. Someone else on here had said he can't guard a post, and I believe they are correct. Plus his shooting suffered tonight.

He did not have a good game tonight.
Well, several of our guys get blown by each game, so let’s focus on Allen. His defense has improved quite a bit from last year.
Yea, he is not going to play much here I am afraid. On a zone team or something he may do okay, but he can't consistently play man 2 man. And his shooting has gotten atrocious. He's making Boston look respectable.
He hasn’t been good for about a month. Hopefully he doesn’t get down and stays engaged, he’ll find a way through it.
I think he got beat on defense..got the ball but drove and stepped on the baseline and shot an air ball then committed a foul on a three point shot and that was when he got took out.
Are we also going to make a thread for each player that played like crap tonight, or just Allen?
Except Allen has now played like crap in three games. He’s not shooting well, and isn’t doing other intangibles well.
I think he knows he is gone back to the bench the minute he makes a mistake or two. Probably too much pressure. And his shooting has definitely taken a step in the wrong direction. Not sure what that is. Maybe pressure as well.

DA did nothing well tonight but let’s be real. He played 3 minutes. I’m ready for him to move somewhere he can get comfortable in the rotation. He’s never playing significant time here and I’m sure his confidence is not the best knowing he has to be damn near perfect for cal to even let him play at all. Hard to perform consistently under those circumstances. A place like Murray state would be great for DA.

There’s a good possibility that he might not be good. And as a fan base, we need to come to terms with that.

He played 3 minutes and missed 1 3pt shot.....what can you garner from either good or bad in 3 minutes. Toppin got 21 minute and most of those at the 3 spot. Cal said Toppin and Brooks at the 3 is what he is eyeing....so you can pretty much say bye-bye to Allen the rest of the season.

This team has too many players for Allen to get minutes. It is hard to look good when you barely get on the court. He needs to earn his minutes in practice.
I agree we should treat him the same. And not hug his nuts because he’s from Kentucky only. Fact. Right now. In this moment and past two gamss. Allen has give us next to nothing. But I guess that’s Cal’s fault.

I love the kid as well.I want him to contribute just as much as anybody but only he can make himself better.He shouldnt be afraid of making mistakes but honestly he is in a funk right now.His shot is gone then he gets frustrated and does silly **** that would drive any coach crazy.He is not going to improve his defense.His shooting is what will keep him on the court and right now he is like 3 for 26 on his three point shooting or something like that.Hes a good kid no doubt but he is the only one that can put himself in a position to contribute.

Hes a sophomore. This is how warped this bs OAD system has gotten folks. I'm not making any bold proclamations but as long as he keeps working and hustling, it will pay dividends for him and us junior and senior year.

This Allen thing has hurt some butts. A bunch of us wanted him to play more last season, because we had zero offense or shooting. Boston was god awful and kept jacking up shots. We wanted Allen to get some of Boston's minutes. This is a different season. I think we all know it's a different season, and Allen isn't good enough to get minutes on this team. This shouldn't need it's own thread. But that may interfere with the celebration that Allen hasn't been good this season.
I still like Allen and think he has it in him to be a good player but he has really struggled lately. Tonight he didn’t have it. He may have only played 3 minutes and we played bad but he looked horrible in those 3 minutes.

If he barely played last year when we had players who wouldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat, there's not much hope for this year unless something drastically changes.
Time to just accept it and move on.
This is pure fantasy. He doesn’t have to be perfect, he just has to not make the dumb plays that he did tonight. You can live with the airball 3, but you can’t live with being totally unaware of where you are on the court and stepping out bounds. You can’t foul a 3 point shooter and think you’re gonna stay in the game.
Allen is what he is, a streak shooter. There will be a game or 2 this season where he will have his stroke going and Calipari will ride his hot hand. If his shot isn’t falling then he’s virtually useless. He’s not making hustle plays, getting steals or deflections, or anything that would warrant his getting extended minutes.
