Well deserved.

How about a shout out to the 2nd team first baseman. Dillan Shrum from Nevada .468/.527/.968 with 15 HR and 47 RBI in 124 AB.

I decided to look into him to see if the competition was weak, but Nevada is number 49 in SOS which puts them in line with most Big 12 or Pac 12 strengths of schedule. In 2 games against Texas he went 5-8 with 2-2B, 1-3B, and 3 RBI against some of their top guys. He was 12-25 overall with a couple of bombs and 9 RBI against P5 teams of Texas, USCw, UCLA, and Arizona State.

Dude is a redshirt senior and has had injury problems his whole career (3 surgeries while in college) and missed 10 games this year. Not showing up anywhere on MLB draft boards. This is a guy that deserves a chance somewhere. Wish we could have snagged him as a grad transfer prior to the season. Maybe through some weird covid stuff and injury history he can get a 6th year medical redshirt or something. I would guess a 150+ game professional season would be to much for his body with his injury history, but damn if he doesn't deserve a shot to play in the SEC on the big stage.
