doesnt bother me any... most of the best coaches are D**ks to the average people. thats what happens with money ..... way too much... they try to fit in with high society and unfortunately too much of high society is belittling everyone else.
Then most of the best coaches are not good people. Being a “D**k to average people” is never ok, whether you have a lot of money or coach basketball. I’m sure we can agree about that. As fans we can enjoy rooting for our team without having to deify a coach who doesn’t deserve much respect as a person. The number of games won or lost doesn’t make anyone a better or worse person, right?

At this rate of 10 losses a year and flaming out early, then KU will pass us in a couple years. Some on here enjoy losing so much in December, maybe they will be happy when KU passes us.

Though number of titles are most important, I've always been proud to say that we have won more games than any other team in Men's college basketball! I really hated it when we lost that to UNC for a few years. I'm not sure the exact number, but I think we lead Kansas right now by about 20 games. If we continue this trend of double digit loss seasons, I'm afraid Kansas will pass us in the next five years or less.
Dear lord some of you are so far gone

I'd trade ten all-time wins for Barrett, Zion, and Carey because I'd also know that we'd immediately get the wins back (and then some) with that type of player on the roster under Cal's OAD expertise. Plus, the hype created builds on itself and gets you in with the next few classes of elites.

As it is, I feel like UK is a car without gas right now when it comes to all-time wins, trying to coast to the nearest gas station before we get stalled on the side of the road.

A collection of elite guys gives to 30 to 38 wins and usually pretty decent plus wins net on Kansas in an individual year.

By the way, Kansas only trails us by fourteen wins.
Well it looks like that amount will double , if there is one ounce of honesty in the NCAA , Emmert is such a lying POS though I really doubt it

Tubby still thinks he was the coach the 3rd year .. but yeah Rick was the greatest coach of all time in every sport. Ask him if you don't believe me. Plus he was the biggest ******* ever in Lexington. Well BCG and Jock Sutherland might give him a run for his money on that last one.

Never had to say wait until March in the 90’s. No one will convince me these past 10 years were better than the 90’s.

Unless we win the title this year.... that’s the only way

One other record of note is that Kentucky has the most 30-win seasons of all-time at 15. Duke and Kansas both have 14 30-win seasons. It is very much looking like Kentucky will be sharing that record with Duke and Kansas after this season.

Hey everyone it is board cop.

Hey everone it's the guy who is incessantly negative who decided to pull up a thread today from last year to call out someone for being negative. (pathetic) Again, you don't deserve any of the enjoyment that Cal has busted his but to bring you. But like the one guy said, if someone's avatar is of a whiner, what can be expected. Carry on until our next loss and your next mental breakdown.

Troll someone else Mr Negative.

Negative would be giving up and saying we'd lose 3 games or even more in December....that would be you.

Positive would be saying we'd beat UNC before they played like I did.

But hey, keep digging around for negative old posts to get the blood off of your hands.

We retook the lead thanks to CM Newton being a fudging BOSS. He was able to remember and show news paper clippings he had saved of UK wins that were previously not recorded in the NCAA history books. So we jumped back ahead of UNC.

Since Kansas probably won't be outright paying for players like they apparently have been this could help us grow that lead somewhat. They should also be vacating quite a few wins but with the NCAA who knows anymore? I mean if the NCAA did its job UNC wouldn't ever be a threat to us again in all-time wins.

Very stupid statement. I realize this is just another slap at Cal but if you really believe he feels that way then there is no help for you.
You really believe he don't feel that way? Personally, I take people at their word. Do you deny Cal said that? He did say it, but you don't believe he means it, so you are actually calling our coach a liar?

Something you have to look at: the SEC is improving so that might mean more losses for UK, while the Big 12 is not as tough as before so fewer losses for KU. In UK’s favor is the fact that Kansas gets upset early in the tournament more often than UK does.

Since Cal took over Kentucky, he has only lost 4 games in the all-time win total from Kansas (including this season). He has gained 27 wins from UNC.

Since Cal took over at UK(including the current season):

Self - 286 wins
Cal - 282 wins
Coach K - 276 wins
Roy - 255 wins

Cal and Self are fairly even in wins this decade. Not sure Kansas would ever be able to catch Kentucky in all-time wins while UK has Cal.
Good stuff. Worrying about being passed in all time wins is needless anyway. But some people have to have something to complain about all the time, even coming off a nice win over UNCheat.

I don't understand why any fan would not be proud to say that we have more wins than anyone, since that is why they play the games. I am proud that we have won more games and hope that we continue to lead the nation in wins!!

You mean this?

UK digging for wins

Nice try but UK correcting their record with one additional victory did not alter who led the overall wins race at the time and C.M. Newton likely had very little to do with it anyway. It was more fixing an accounting error since the game was already being listed in both UK and UL’s media guide at the time. The most surprising thing was why it wasn’t found and corrected earlier.

This all brings up some great memories. Remember when we had "the list" up top every week for years when Cal took back over?

You'll recall that "the list" was important to us because the fanbase was panicking after a long dry spell (vastly worse than Cal's worst extended span) with Tubby and BCG and was trying to quantify what exactly separated us, if anything, from the other elite programs which had been gaining steadily for a decade.

Once Cal arrived, posters rotated bumping it back up to the top daily as we gleefully watched KU and UNC disappear in our rearview, as well as Cal finally closing that obnoxious F4 gap with the ACC schools and also adding to our championship total.

Eventually, Cal had a positive w/l over every other elite coach, was outperforming them by record, and had built such a safe total wins cushion that people just forgot about it, and it was relegated to the cobwebbed corners of RR history.

Now, Cal has had a weaker stretch by his standards, and the net result is that he's fallen back a little, to where he's been merely comparably effective over the decade with Bill Self and Coach K.

Where's that panic button again?

Who cares about all-time wins? Michigan is still the leader in NCAA football wins and that doesn't man squat as they haven't been relevant in decades. As I have said from the beginning of the year and then after the Duke loss, I feel we are going to win the National Championship this year. I don't care about wins back in the 1920s, 30s, or 40s.

If you don’t care that’s fine but why are you responding to a subject that you don’t care about?

Ok, well guess what, some arrogant douchebag in the year 2100 will look back and say “I don’t care about wins in the early 2,000’s, 10’s, or 20’s. I only care about now.

This is why the name “objective” is hilarious.

Who cares? Go back and watch the intros of our UNC and Kansas games this year, and College Game Day from Rupp. They always begin "Two of college basketball's winningest programs" then show a graphic with Kentucky at the top...or they say something like, "From Rupp Arena, home of college basketball's winningest program..." If you don't get a surge of pride when you hear that you are either very young and will grow into it, or you are a Bandwagon Fan.
