All it would take for UNC to catch us is for UK to lose our next 100 games in a row, and UNC to win 35 straight at the same time. I'm still feeling that record is safe for a few years or so.

At the start of this season UK could have started a 110 game losing streak and they would still be the all-time leader in winning %

Cal's personal winning percentage at UK took a big hit this year. He was better (83%) than Rupp's (for his whole time at UK 42 years) but the last few years have slowly eroded that. Rupp ended up at 82%. Cal would have to really step it up to get back to number.
It's at 78.7% now. While that is good. That last few years have been below that.
His first 6 years was 83%. 228 games and 190 wins,
That last 6 years is at 73% and counting. 203 games and 149 wins so far.

Pitino's is 81.4%. Hall's is 74.8%. Tubby's is 76%.

The thing is that really a fair comparison to Joe B? Calipari has 4+ gimme non conference games a year that Coach Hall never did. Give Hall 4 extra wins per season and he’d be at 78% too.

Cawood, do you mean that Cal, in the last 6 years is below Tubby? Isn't Tubby the coach we wanted out of here? My, my, how things have changed.

So we should just forget the wins and now brag about percentage? My, how far have we fallen. Anything to protect God Cal from any liability, right?

OMG!!!! This is so funny. So, let me get this straight. You play 30 games and win 11, I play 10 and win all 10, you have a better program because winning percentages don’t matter? CLOD mathematics in action.

Self 351-77 since '9-'10
*332-69 prior to this year

Cal 339-92 since '9-10
*330-77 prior to this year

I suspect a couple of things.

1. We will right the ship next year and Kansas will be dreadful.

2. Kansas will end up having some games yanked from record books.

Yep took a major hit this year, obviously. From '16-'20 (5 years) was 78%....dropped 5 points this year alone.

I know we don't all agree on everything but I think we have to see what happens next season.
If he poops the bed again it will become obvious we are in a down turn. It is hard to say we are in a down turn now IMO.

This may just be a terrible year where all the wrong things happened at the wrong time.

IMO '16 we were coming off a 38 win season and basically starting as close to scratch as you can. '17 was solid. '18 starting over. '19 solid. '20 solid but who knows. '21 awful. '22 ?

What is becoming more and more obvious and something I've personally accepted no matter what happens prior to Cal retiring from here is that his time here will go down as what could've and should've been.
