We played schools our own size. Sorry that we didnt play schools three times our size to win a title. Thats like saying none of Appalachian national titles doesn't count cause they never beat Alabama or who ever won the National championship.
Great point. Which is exactly why WNCHSAA titles are state champioships.
That's really just to dig into BK a bit. Major respect for Robbinsville's program. One of my favorite places to take in a game.
One question you ask though, is by having so few schools in 1A did it make it tougher to win a 2A title when there were around 100 schools in that class (about the same in 3A)? Especially for the smaller 2A schools? 4A had about 75 during those seasons.
Yes 2A was tough back then. But the old SMC 2A won several in the seventies. If not mistaken, every team won one title and a couple won two.
