Kansas insiders say he's a lock but are involved here? Odd. I give Chalmers15 credit he keeps saying it's Maryland as the leader (which is what we all assumed when he entered the Portal)

I thought he was trolling, but maybe not, but that's not exactly what he's been saying:

Tuesday night:
Latest we're hearing - Maryland. Combination of NIL and featuring him exclusively. Didn't see that coming.

Wednesday night:
Latest I'm hearing is Kentucky.

Thursday night:
Still hearing he's Kentucky's to lose.

Saturday night:
Hearing playing near DeMantha is a major factor, though Maryland can't match the NIL of Kentucky and Kansas. Closer than I expected yesterday. Neither Kentucky or Maryland feels extremely confident. Still expect he'll give the nod to the Cats but it's not a given. Maryland is a serious contender.

Sunday night:
Still think Kentucky is the leader in the clubhouse but it's close to a coin flip with Maryland.

So what I’ve gathered from Twitter is…

- Nova coaches and insiders feel good Hunter Dickinson is theirs. Dickinson is the missing piece for this Nova team to be title contenders.

- KU insiders confident they have Dickinson wrapped up. With the other pieces KU has coming in plus the players returning, they’re instantly national title favorites.

- The Maryland building is very confident Hunter Dickinson is coming. With the dynamic backcourt they have returning, a Dickinson commitment would instantly vault Maryland basketball into Final Four contention.

Sounds like Hunter Dickinson is the most important player in college basketball.

Maryland is returning Jahmir Young, Dickinsons buddy, but they lost the rest of their backcourt, Carey and Hart. I do think Jamie Kaiser is a solid wing though. I guess if they got Dickinson, Donta Scott or Julian Reese could play SF.

He is a perfect fit at UK and can play for a national title and UK boosters will shell out the duckies.
He has also said he would love to play here.
My guess is Cal has told him if he commits to UK Oscar will be leaving.

There's a better fit with KU in all honesty. They are losing a 20 PPG scorer from the frontcourt. We have a lot of mouths to feed while all their returnees are role players. We also have the #1 C in the 2023 recruiting class, even if he thinks he's a 4.

He is the most important transfer by far. Some people are underestimating the value he would bring to whoever gets him.
They are, but I still say the Utah valley kid or Oscar is a way better fit for next years roster, you obviously 1000 percent take Dickinson if he wants to come and figure out the fit

Would love to have Oscar back. But Dickinson’s ability to spread the floor avoids clogging the lane. Dillingham and Wagner need space to create and that is where I think Hunter can benefit this team. Would he happy with either Oscar or Hunter.

Would it be the biggest heel turn of all time if Dickinson goes back to Michigan, after getting Kansas, Maryland, Villanova, Kentucky fanbases all involved

Would cal let hunter shoot 3s if the question, in theory hunter is the clear first choice, but then we have to consider the system and play style our coach uses, I will just be glad when the Dickinson saga is over and we know if we have a great player or need to get Oscar back or go get somebody else

If he picks Kentucky, you might as well put at least one loss on your record because Armando Bacot will, again, dominate Dickinson in the scheduled UNC v UK game. I can't say the same if it was Oscar vs Bacot.

But Dickinson at UK would provide better rim protection overall than Oscar. And Dickinson can shoot from 3 a little bit.

To me it's interesting how many teams (or their insiders) seem to think Dickinson would propel their team to national championship contenders. I mean...was Michigan a national championship contender with NBA talent Jett Howard alongside Dickinson? I can see a UK and KU saying that but Villanova and Maryland?

Just wait until the fans actually see him play. His play will never match the fever pitch of this recruitment. Always happens every Spring. Remember the pins and needles for Frank Anselem "watch"?
You haven’t figured out by now this board is terrible at projecting how players will be once in uniform here playing for Cal?

Get too hyped up and convince themselves of fairy tales.

Agreed. Plus Self will let him shoot the ball. We are terrible with big men who need the ball to be happy.
