His decision to take the air out of the ball with 4 to go and all the momentum killed it

Agreed. He lost his composure and the critics will kill him. Deservedly so.

We were up 4 and then we had 3 of the worst offensive possessions we have had all season. Isolating Andrew 3 straight times flat out cost us the game. Unbelievable..

Yes but great season nonetheless. We saw it all year that it could cost us.

See you guys in November

I agree,,,Even when we did that in the Anthony Davis days it would screw with our mojo.

Cal did this at Memphis and it cost him a title vs. Kansas.
He did it again in 2012 vs. Kansas and we barely survived.
This time it bit us in the ***.

Despite the refs, we had the ball and we had the Mo and Cal killed it. It is all on Cal

It hasn't just happened to Cal; lots of great coaches have made the same blunder. PLAYING NOT TO LOSE.

You play not to lose and you lose. Unbelievable. We've done it all year late in games when they were close. Tonight it bit us in the ***. Just needed to push that 4 point lead out to 6 or 8 and we would be playing Monday. Give Wisky credit, they made the plays in crunch time and we did not.

I am rarely one to criticise coaching, but that was awful decision making by Cal to slow it down with 2 minutes left when we had been attacking and had the momentum.

We were about to build a run and he blew it. He should have been looking to extend the lead at that point instead of taking the air out of it. Wisconsin was on the ropes. Cal beat us.

And twice he was fouled and it was not called.

It was awful. I love the guy, but he is not a good coach in these type of situations. There's plenty of games that show it. His refusal to at least try zone against teams like this is questionable.

Yep its on Cal. I'd bet he takes a bunch of crap for it too and it will push him towards leaving. I know we shouldn't blame him for the very reason but I just can't help it. This has cost him two titles now. And it cost a perfect season for us. The season is a bust now and i don't care what anybody says. If we couldn't win it with this team what can you win it with? More and more it looks like it took one of the alltime greats (Davis) to win Cal 's first one.

1 - bizarre officiating
2 - inability to offensive rebound in the first half
3 - booker on the switch
4 - 3 shot clock violations in a row
5 - shot clock play

3 of those 5 are in UKS control, and even the shot clock thing, 3 of our guys watched the tipped ball go out of bounds.

Wisconsin hadn't scored in 5 minutes - we had them on the ropes - then we play not to lose and allow them to regain their composure for the stretch run while we laid eggs.

A loss that didn't have to happen.

I know the personnel for us is different than last year...but we played different. Last year we drove, drove, drove, the ball. UW is slow on defense, and Kaminsky is a joke on defense. We drove it with success most of the time, but not enough IMO. Then we stall the ball and drive with 5 seconds left when the whole UW team knew that it was coming and the whole UW team clogged up the middle.
