We also fortunate to play in West with a number of really bad offenses.
As a comparison, PSU held Iowa to 76 total yards. We are a solid to good defense.
Teams like Michigan, PSU and OSU are really good defenses with elite players which we don't have.

Both coming back I expect a monster season from both. At least 2nd team Big 10 next year. NFL is in both their futures.
I'd agree that Nash and Robinson probably got screwed here but we win 2-3 more games and I think you have an arguement. It's just how these things go. Look at the HS side of things in state. A kid from a 3 win team will never (ok, maybe rarely) make an all state team even if he's the best dude in the class. Team success matters. Always has and always will.

My interpretation... make a ******* meaningful play when it counts. For me it is not about statistics for these type of honors. Where was Hutmacher when that Iowa RB ran right up the gut to put them in FG range to end the game? The point is this defense was phenomenal when it didn't matter, but where were they when it counted?

I agree with what you are saying but someone said that Nash wasn't in on that run play. Not sure if that is true or not.
Team wins don't always equal selections. I see Indiana and Minnesota have players on the first team as well. The common thought is if the teams wins 3-4 more games that is the qualifier to get more players on the list? The coaches watch an unreal amount of film, they know who is good and who is not.
I thought Ty and Nash both had blocked kicks vs Iowa, but I dont see them here. Anyways. Chop Robinson out here making 1st team D how again? Based on potential? What am I missing? Did he do all that in 1 game?

Having the best players leads to the best teams (Michigan, tOSU and Penn State). Funny how that works.
Reimer didn't really standout this year like he had in the past. Think he was hurt or injured at one point. If it was anybody, should have been Nash.
On second thought, Newton at 5-7 Illinois over Ty is baffling. Felt like Ty was getting double teamed more than Newton was.

The top 2 sack leaders and 2 of the top 3 TFL leaders didn't make first team. Heck, one didn't make any team. Not sure what they choose these teams on....
Reimer being on there makes me think no one watches our games. Luke was a recognized name last 2 years. Not as much this year. Ty, Nash, Giff were more noticeable playmakers this year. It’s all stupid bulshit. League exists to exalt OSU and Mich, and the pedofiles
