Per OWH & LJS. Some coaches have already signed others haven't been able to since they are out recruiting. All assistant coaches signed a two year contracts when they were hired. These extensions, I believe, are adding a year since they just finished with one. (this way they always have a two year contract) No word if raises were part of the extensions or not.

Husker assistants offered contract extensions

Each of Nebraska's 10 assistant football coaches has been offered a contract extension and some have already signed, the NU athletic department confirmed to the Journal Star on Wednesday morning.

The rest are expected before long, but coaches are out on the road recruiting and some have not been in the office much in recent weeks.

Nebraska's 10 full-time assistants each received two-year deals when hired in December 2017 and began working here on a full-time basis in January 2018 after leading Central Florida to a Peach Bowl win.

It was not immediately clear if any of the coaches have been offered adjusted salaries from their original deals, but more information should be available once the process is complete.

It's not surprising everybody on staff was offered the chance to add a year to his contract, considering head coach Scott Frost often lauds the way his group works together and the recruiting that took place among the staff members to make sure that everybody made the jump together from Orlando to Lincoln.

The original pool for NU's assistants (and head strength coach Zach Duval) was $5 million, and the group came close to that number at $4,875,000.

Plus, they get to eat for free! That would be the sweet part! That training table stuff looks amazing.

and your wardrobe is free. Its a busy gig, but pretty freaking sweet. Lots of added perks besides just money.

Oh yeah! I didn't think about the clothes!

Also, I know they are "busy" but think about it...you are working with your friends, in a super casual environment, watching football all day, talking to players, shooting the ****. Once the season ends you have so much free time especially when you are not on the road. Super easy place to bring your kids to work with you and let them run around.

Tons of perks!

Yep, anytime someone can do what they love as a job, it doesn't get any better than that.

Pretty nice to have the entire staff carry over to the next season. Would be great if NU could get another year of that before some leave for other programs.
A big part of TO's success was not just continuity in a system, but continuity in coaching. From one season to the next, the same coaches were working with successive cohorts of players. Huge for great development of the roster.

Unfortunately it is a different time from TO. The odds of a staff staying together for a long period of time is not going to happen. If we have any kind of success this year. I could see some leaving after this year. Would be great to see the whole staff stay together until we get that NC :)

There's a solution: Bump their pay checks ( a bunch), no worries, most teams can't afford them now.
