All-American Game: Allar

Didn't see much talk about the All-American game. Not sure if many of you tuned in or not? My wife was out doing some grocery shopping and I was supposed to organizing and cleaning up around the house (ok honey...). This allowed me to drink a few beers and tune into the game a bit. I'm not much of a fan of these types of games. New offense for the players, tough to develop rapport in such a short period of time, etc. So I usually never make judgements based on these games. I was wondering if anyone on here had any thoughts?

Allar and Singleton get the start for the East. 1st down, short out route dropped. A little hot, but catchall. 2nd down, Singleton up the middle for 2. 3rd down, Allar sacked for 10 yard loss. DT comes untouched on a stunt. Another DL was coming free too. DDD off sides on a 2nd and 7.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw the nice sack for DDS. If anything it’s good to see them matching up against players who are at the top of the high school ranks

That sack was nice. DDS definitely took him down with "authority!" I think he will be a stud! I saw more from Allar from his high school highlight video, but again - due to lack of offensive understanding for the all-star game, player rapport, etc. it is challenging for these guys. I will say that the kid definitely has some fire behind his throws. That ball is zippin!

I like it when you can tell they are going to make an impact. That play makes me think DDS is for real. You just never know what 5 stars won’t make it and which 3 stars will. sometimes all it takes is the first game of the season to know who’s legit. I saw Saquans first few games in person. How was he a 3 star? He ran for 100 yards every game as a backup and even hurdled someone. Then guys like shorter and slade just don’t make it. I’ll always watching to see who plays early like Kalen king and the safety reed. Everyone seemed to know that tengwall was for real despite how long it takes olineman to play
