I think

a better QB (Kelly or Dak for instance) has Alabama up at least 21-0 at half.

He was 7/10 for 43 yards when I posted that, w 3 possessions resulting in punts. A good deal of those 7 completions were dump offs. Again, not overly impressive at that time, like I said.

Coker can't really win you a game.

I think Clemson beats them because of that. Clemson can do what gives Bama's defense at least some trouble, and their defense is good enough to make Bama work.

They are getting dominated. Bama will not lose playing like this. They will hurt Watson next week if he tries to run like he did today.

And Coker is 22-26 right now. He is really struggling.**

So does that Punt Returner just return punts for TDs against teams called "MSU" or is it equal opportunity?

Similar to our game against Bama. Kept it close for quarter or so, but then the big plays hit them. This MSU even had a blown redzone opportunity like we did.

How about now? You might want to let the entire game conclude before you make an evaluation.

Coker is not flashy but he is better than you are giving him credit for. He has carried this team tonight on offense, not the heisman trophy winner.

When you have line play on both sides like Bama does you don't need a superstar at QB.

Well

try to use some context. You do realize that people can look unimpressive during certain parts of games, and not in others?

I was

making a comment on his play before they even had a point on the board.

I didn't make that comment 30 seconds ago.

Definitely not Dak during the first qtr of the La Tech game (and first 6 games of the season).

Do try to go easy on the tequila tonight, Kurt.**

You're right.

7/10 for 43 yards and 0 TDs is impressive. My mistake.

Go easy on the sparkling grape juice tonight, Jose.

Too many dipshits on SPS now. I get what you're saying. If the bammers had Dak (or Kelly), they would have dominated everybody this year. Elvis is getting better, but all my local bammers say he won't be the starter next year.

Yeah. That was your mistake. What difference does it make if a QB is "unimpressive" in the first few minutes of a game if he goes on to dominate? Then, when you try to defend your comment you just look silly.

Dak started the second half yesterday 0 for 7 passing. He was very unimpressive in that game.**

Of all the offensive players Bama has, which one do you give credit for, for scoring 38 last night? I know that Bama's D won the game, but Coker was phenomenal last night against a fantastic defense. Of all the games to quip "Coker can't really win you a game", last night was the poorest choice. Coker was 25-30 for 286 with no INTs. He had two long passes that ended inside the 5 yard line.... So his TD count would've looked better had the receivers got in the end zone.

So -- in that game last night -- Coker was 9 yards away from equaling Tyler Russell's best career passing yardage day at MSU. Just for perspective.

Most of these imminent top pick QBs for this year's draft have not been impressive in their bowl games.

Im not commenting on Cokers draft status... I'm only looking at this past game, in which he played fantastic. Their offense doesn't require him to throw for 400+ to win. It requires him to hit a few play action deep balls, protect the football, and move the chains with first down throws. He did all of that perfectly last night.

And

I wasn't commenting on the entire game...lots of reading comprehension fail in this thread.
