What exactly has she accomplished to deserve the “she’s that good” title?
I was with her the night before she parted ways with McCaffery. She didn't tell me the plan but she laid out a comprehensive understanding (er...indictment) of the state of the bb program and plan for moving forward. It included a comprehensive look at facilities, NIL, fundraising, the coach, etc... She understood that Coach Ferentz, for all his success, accomplishment and reasons for deference, had a singular and massive blind spot. And she acted decisively and authoritatively. She was the HWC event this past September (IU football game). She understands the role of Iowa in the wrestling universe and culture. She values it. She is willing to invest in it and to advocate for it. Think revenue sharing. I guess I am saying I have been very impressed. Enough to trust her judgment when I know she knows more details than me.

I hope she values wrestling. The University has won 26 NCAA national titles across all sports. 24 in men’s wrestling. The other 2: men’s gymnastics 1969 and women’s field hockey in 1986. Her best chances of getting NCAA titles come from women’s wrestling first and men’s wrestling second.

But with the way things are heading, it isn’t the slam dunk it once was to invest in a non-revenue sport, let alone keep it around. Especially one that runs so far in the red. An AD who values it isn’t as much of a slam dunk as it once was.

Broke isu got 1 million, and Iowa zero rev share this year according to Bob. It's fair to question how much wrestling means to her until she shows them the money in a big way.

No way Isu should be giving anywhere near the rev share Iowa gets. And no way any coaches like David Taylor are succeeding Brands if they aren't given an open check book.

it is my understanding (i could be wrong)

that iowa wrestling not getting rev share was a temporary thing. with everything being new, they are figuring it out and will get rev share in the very near future.

that's what i heard anyway.

I think that is exactly what is happening, but KF, BM, and JJ all want a bigger piece of the pie, and JJ is being VERY loud about her share. This is a tough salary cap for Beth to navigate while trying to keep the coaches happy and still employed by Iowa.

Yes you are 100% correct. All the deals were already in place pre house settlement deadline. Wrestling gets rev share this coming season

I hope she values wrestling

She does, but LOTS of pressure from other coaches.

21 million, how would you allocate if you were her--serious question.
