I have said a million times CMP works under a different set of rules than any other coach. That’s because of golden parachute Barnhart.
jMI is legally bound to follow all NCAA rules no one else is following.
Yesterday was just another example of what Calipari ( Who is recruiting much better at Arkansas than he was here) said a month ago. Administration wins Championships.
With the denial of the 5 for 5 seniors yesterday Aberdeen at Florida has already lawyered up and is gonna be the face of the law suit charge. It isn’t him, it’s the Florida administration. They are getting the lawyers and paperwork. They are gonna work to get Aberdeen eligible. Owehs phone from UK is silent as a mouse. The NCAA has spoken. Barnhart would never put that together.
Duke broke immigration laws to keep Sarr in country while his application processed. He got to practice with them all spring when no other foreign guy did. Sarr didn’t execute that plan. Dukes administration did.
Everyone can gripe about CMP but IMO no coach could succeed under Barnharts UK. It’s just too different. We don’t do the things others do. We sit silently in the corner.
I guess that’s why Eli thought Mitch deserved a million a year.

Extreme risk aversion and unwillingness to push back on NCAA decisions constantly is just evidence there has never been a single spine among UK admins. Mitch surely gets in his gimp suit every night when he goes home, if you've ever met him and his wife in person. I'm sure Cap, Todd, etc. were about the same.

Great 1st post! Not idle speculation in the least.
Also, what does Cal know about building a champion? He ran over a billion dollars worth of NBA talent through Lexington, with 1 championship. Did the administration make him lose?

I think he hired Pope because any established coach would laugh in his face. His best friend even turned him down after a visit. Coaches and recruits come here and the agents see how we operate and say … No Thanks. No coach would work under his stupid restrictions.
