He was on a loaded team and was basically the 5th option among the starters. Natural point guard forced to play on the wing last year. Lots of people seem to be really high on him as a "lead" guard and think he'd really excel if given the reigns of a talented team.
Rumors were he wanted more “on ball” time and that’s part of why he left the program.

I'm worried that he may go overseas to make some money. The people around the minnesota program said he hated going back to school last season and almost left at the last minute anyway.
Hopefully Cal has personally spoken with him and they have a clear understanding of where they both stand.
This is too important to have Barbee or any of the other assistants handle. Cal needs to take the reigns and land this plane.

i would to but it seems like he’s not coming back
How does anyone know though? That's just an assumption.

Cal is going to do a lot of things he has never done before… .I think, or at least he should.

He talked a little smack recently (everyone having fun while UK is down… ), so he has something in his mind and that something might be loading up on really good players, to the point where he is 2 to 3 deep at every position.

Heck, he might put 4 guards on the floor, if he does that, which Oscar alluded to, he is going to need Mintz AND Miller.

Ding ding ding. He saw Curbelo blow up and knew he wasn't going to be the guy with the ball in his hands. Its that simple. And I still don't see him coming here regardless of the report. He wants to be the man, this is not the program for him.

I hope you’re right but they offered ty ty Washington another pg. That makes me think they aren’t confident in getting Carr
They have to have some backup plans if Miller doesn’t come and Carr goes pro, the same people complaining about all the offers would be the same ones saying why weren’t we looking anywhere else if he top targets don’t come.

Plus everyone good is leaving.

Eh, if Kofi comes back, we’ll be a top 10 team again ... we all saw what we did without Ayo (i.e., raping Michigan in Ann Arbor). With that said, I’d hate to lose Miller. He has a lot of potential, IMO, but it’ll mostly be offset with Frazier returning and new additions. I would be pretty excited with adding him if I were you guys (assuming any conjecture about attitude problems are just sour grapes), and I think he’s primed for a nice sophomore year jump.

Interesting. The highest I can find illinois on the big name website preseason rankings is 43

There's been a lot of Miller/LSU buzz the past couple days. And they have some openings now. I think it's more likely he ends up there than Kentucky. I'd rather have McClung, and I'm not that high on McClung either.

But signing Tyty Washington - if it happens - won't rule out another point guard. Washington can play off the ball too. There's going to be other point guards enter the portal. De'Vion Harmon from Oklahoma did today. I want us to land a couple players soon myself but we just have to be patient.

No problem if you get the right players.
Problem is the longer the wait, the less options that are available. You don’t want to get too late in the recruiting process to where you limit yourself on a select few options. We’ve seen that happen countless times in the past. I have to agree with @STL_Cat here.

Does anyone else find it cringy when grown adults refer to them beating a team as a “raping?” I used to do it in high school, but since then I do find weird. Especially in text form.

More players enter the transfer portal everyday.

I think that’s assuming all “declared” players leave. If they did, I suppose 43 is fair if a bit low. However, Frazier is announcing his return this weekend, and many are saying that would push Williams toward coming back. I also expect Kofi to return, which makes most of the difference.

If a lot of guys don’t return, sure. But if they all do, it’s not some homer claim to say a top 5 team would still be a top 10 team without Ayo, considering how we played without him.

But what if you have to play Loyola again?
