Not sure. Maybe because the old HS is a little ways down Byhalia. They locked down that school for a bit and that may have led to the confusion.

All of the schools in Collierville were locked down. The only notification that went out was from the high school, I suspect that was because they were close to their dismissal time. The message from the high school said "CPD has reported an off campus active shooter situation." which probably led to WREG's confusion.

If so this is twice in a couple of years for the Memphis metro area. Southaven Walmart was a disgruntled termed employee.

Heard the same. That he was fired yesterday. My sister n law/brother n law we’re pulling into the parking lot with their two year old as it was happening.

you are right! I had already forgot about that.

It is scary to think how many times we’ve all probably walked past or even spoken to someone that was teetering on the brink of a complete meltdown. It’s impossible for me to wrap my head around what would have to go through someone’s head in order for them to decide that the next logical step is to walk into a store and start shooting people, but you just never know.

I sure am glad that your sister and her family were a few minutes late.

A few minutes here or there can make a lifetime's difference. Found out this morning that a co-worker's son works across the street from that Kroger at Target. Co-worker's wife had dropped their son off at work and went to Kroger to get groceries and apparently left right before it happened. She pulled into their driveway just as his son started texting to find out where she was and let her know about the shooting.

The lady who was killed has two sons who are State grade, both were members of the Famous Maroon Band.

Zero logic. He didn't lose some great job, nor is the job market tight. He could've gotten equal or better pay nearly anywhere. I suspect that whatever issue(s) caused him to get fired contributed to his reaction as well.

Mental health issues are most likely at an all time high over the last 18 months. So this is what they call a stressor event, being terminated. Not at all the root cause.
