Sounds like Erwin just literally quit. Like I said on the other thread, Reynolds is good for sure but Erwin is not that bad. How many turnovers did they have? 5?
Reynolds was just the better team tonight start to finish. Absolutely dominated in all three phases of the game. I have to say, Erwin looked shockingly off tonight. I can't imagine that is how Ferguson wanted to go out. Reynolds had a great game plan and put their speed rushers on the field and gave him no time to throw. Solid game plan and even better execution.
Congrats to big green. Please, please, please beat Weddington next week.
Still makes you want to throw up thinking about the 2014 game with them. So many chances to win, and the refs didn't help. Could probably say the same when Reynolds played them last year.
The Asheville team of 2014 was a state championship caliber team and was one play away from beating weddington. The Reynolds team of 2015 was a state championship caliber team and was probably one play away from beating weddington. Weddington is a mountain killer. And to make matters worse they seem to always come up here and beat us. They have to be one of the most fundamentally sound teams I've ever seen, and it's every year. Reynolds is hot right now, but weddington has won their last 9 games and all of them were blowouts. Erwin had 4+ turnovers tonight? Very doubtful weddington does that.
Reynolds will be a tough out for anyone. Their passing game is much improved in the past few weeks and that Sean Jones kid is an absolute hammer who can hit a home run. Defense can lose focus at times and give up some big plays but very solid for the most part. I don't know much about Weddington but I doubt they have any special sauce. If ACR comes to play, they will have as good a shot as anyone.
You could say the same thing about weddington. In the last 3 years, weddington is 4-0 against Asheville and Reynolds. You doubt they have any special sauce? Based on what? Reynolds was a juggernaut last year with the player everybody goo gooed and gagad over for 3 months and weddington came to their house and beat them, just like they did our great team of 2014. Reynolds will want revenge and like I said, they have been playing very well, but in their last 9 games, weddington hasn't won by LESS than 21 in any of them.

Nah he's a senior. The QB St. Onge, WR Robinson and DB Dre Dowdle are the only players I know for sure are juniors. Seems to be a senior heavy squad.
Edit: The monster LB #44 (Torrez?) is too I'm pretty sure.
ACR has several juniors and below playing. 3 of our 5 OL are Coming back next year (1 sophomore, 2 juniors) basically all our DB's are back also. We had 1 sophomore DB, and 1 sophomore DL playing tonight. Both QBs will be back, and 2 WR. And #44 Torres is a junior, he is related to the Cabral brothers who played LB at ACR several years ago.
Somebody better check on AI04..... he may be lighting the trailer park on fire. Nice performance ACR, I was shocked reading on that tweeter thing
its ok warrior i feel your pain. i remember the 69 28 game. i really think our defense was the key to last nites win.ferguson just didnt have time to throw the ball. plus the run defense was great as well.

Congratulations to all you Reynolds fans. You guys have all been a class act this year unlike some other schools fans. I hope you guys can get the win vs Weddington next week. As for Erwin I'm just really disappointed in what they did last night. That is truly the worst game I have ever seen as an Erwin fan. We lost some games like this back in the nineties but our teams were terrible then. There's no excuse for what happened last night. I literally watch the team get behind by two scores and give up like they didn't even want to be there. I told my friend that was with me that this game was over because of their body language alone. I know games like this happen and you just want to move on and forget about it but like I said no excuse for that. I know how Reynolds felt a few years ago when they came to our place and we did the same thing to them except it wasn't a playoff game. It's just one of those games where one team is on fire and the other team is flat. Anyways hope you guys rep the the MAC well next week. I'll be there
Just out of curiosity and because I think it benefits everyone when we have a competitive league, who is going to replace Ferguson? Air Raid offenses tend to be the easiest to groom a replacement but Ferguson actually seemed to be a notch above the typical Air Raid system QB when I saw him. Also if I'm not mistaken, didn't Erwin pretty much go single wing with Thompson when Ferguson went down? I really hope Erwin will be strong next year. With the reputation of WNC football as it is, we need as much competition as possible.
ive heard rumors that the qb at roberson is going to be at erwin next year. could be just talk though
From a Erwin fan we have no idea. His father does coach at Erwin and his mother works at TC. I seen him at multiple games this year on Erwin's side. That would be a great thing for Erwin and for once someone coming to Erwin. Oh how the tide has changed over the years.
Are you forgetting about Denzel McKnight, Malik Palmer, Sean Johson, Dion Haynes, Martin Jackson and Keylen Johnson? They all played at Asheville high before transferring to Erwin.
Shaquan Currenton, Jonathan Allen, Malik Palmer, Keylen Johson and Kelman Simpson all lived in the Asheville district WHILE playing for Erwin.
Erwin has gotten its fair share of talent transferring just like Reynolds and Asheville have.
The jv qb has a lot of potential. He is about 6 3" with a good arm. He was just a freshman and raw but I think he will be a good one. A lot depends on who replaces the coach as well.
