Cool! I just made a bunch of stuff for one of the army parents, her son is on the team and graduates in 27.
One silly question though....how does one transfer from the military?

Same as anybody else as long as you don't start your junior year I think. Once you start your junior year, you are bound to your service commitment and I think basically the same rules apply as they would to anybody trying to quit.
Not sure how they treat tuition for the first two years if you transfer then, or how they treat it if you try to quit after starting your junior year.
I've always wondered that. I thought you were locked in when you enrolled.
Didn't their RB from the football team transfer our a few years ago to? I think you have to pay money to cover your scholarship, but I'm sure the NIL money will cover it.
Paul Skenes did not have to pay back tuition when he transferred from the Air Force Academy.
- Timing of Departure: Skenes left the academy before the start of his junior year. At service academies, the "Commitment Dinner" where students sign for their final two years of school and subsequent military service occurs before the junior year begins.
- Financial Implication: Because he withdrew prior to this commitment deadline, he was not yet financially liable to the government. Departing after this point would have required repayment of tuition costs, typically through enlisted service or a monetary penalty.
- Military Service: Consequently, he had no active duty service obligation attached to his time at the academy, allowing him to pursue a professional baseball career without immediate military constraints.
I think I am getting the two years deal from discussions when Skenes was leaving the air force academy. And maybe from Shane Gillis talking about dropping out of west point almost immediately. So not betting a lot on it being right.
I believe they can leave the service academies after (or maybe up to) 2 years without having to pay anything back to the government.
Also a pitcher. 5-0 with 5 saves. ERA isn’t good but looks like that’s probably 1 bad outing with limited innings & that many wins & saves.
It’s pretty great to be able to go pickup solid prospects. 17 HRs is impressive. Keep em coming.
I personally don’t see what the big deal is. West Point is only like 15 minutes away. Need to cast a wider net than that.
Edited: Not downing the guy because he was only a freshman but we're taking a big step back with just about anyone who replaces Ace.
Ace had seven home runs as a freshman at Houston.
Arkansas Oklahoma & Georgia all though the was good enough.
I’d certainly take those numbers on the mound from most any freshmen. Especially if said freshmen is also hitting 17 HR’s with a 1.226 OPS.
Dang he's a big young fella. Imagine him and Jacob Parker batting back to back. Looks like he has a quick bat too.
I think this is sullys replacement. Looked like he was DH a good bit at army.
We can improve during the regular season. Ace was pretty bad until the last two sec series.
Ace was good but got hella good at the end of the season. This guy has a season under his belt and can build on it. Give us a couple more guys that can go yard or hit doubles regularly this next team can be a beast.
Going into the final 2 series of the year he was hitting .218 (worst among regulars) with an .856 OPS (3rd worst among regulars) against P4 teams.
Well if the young man from army can keep a bit of the power and still walk half that much good deal. Hopefully his glove can work at third. If not maybe he can step in and step up for Sullivan and be a solid DH.
