HS report on KD
At 6’10, there are few, if any, players at his age and size that have the perimeter game Durant has. The SG/SF/PF has NBA three point range, can shoot off the dribble, and is incredibly coordinated for a player his size.

It is not uncommon to see Durant pull up from 23 or 24 feet on one possession, only to break his man down off of the dribble and hit a silky smooth 17 footer on the very next possession. The Texas recruit also has the ability to handle the ball incredibly well for a 6’10 player, enabling him to get by smaller players with ease.

He already has a diverse game, including outside shooting.

Yeah. I couldn’t find his stats/percentages but someone compared him to Kobe and I almost hate to say it but I totally see it…but Kobe “only” averaged 33% from 3 in the NBA. Of course Kobe made up for that and led the league in 2 pt fg’s made several times though.

Sommerville is climbing the rankings and is an inside/outside big man.

Gavin Griffiths has range from 23 to 25 feet away and can maneuver inside and outside.

Dylan is probably the current version of Jalen Brunson, with an extra step that makes him difficult to guard.

Dortch is ultimately a player that would have headlined a RU recruiting class a decade ago, he's going to be a terror on defense and in transition. Imagine a more mobile, quicker version of Mag, with the ability to dribble, pass and shoot.

Ace Bailey probably has the most unique, 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 abilities to shed, split defenders and it's his passing that makes him different from a KD comparison. I don't think we have seen a KD at anytime since he arrived at Texas. Durant has a game that is really not athletic ability reliant, he can just find spots and score from anywhere.

Bailey is probably a half-step quicker than KD, but when Bailey gets the ability to harness that athletic ability to draw fouls like KD, is where the comparisons become closer to reality. It's kinda scary to think Bailey has another 15 months of development before he plays his 1st college game.....same with Dylan Harper, Dortch, Sommerville and Gavin Griffiths with a 1 year head start in 2023-24.

If Simpson, Griffiths and Davis develop and get lots of minutes this year, 2024-25, has a chance to be something that is must-see TV on a nightly basis on a national level. RU could be THE story of all of CBB, let alone the B1G or region. Bailey is that talented to bring the program from good to elite, overnight.

I’ve said it before. UCLA vs Rutgers at MSG in January of 2025. CBS nationally televised Saturday afternoon tip.

I know that most say that there is no way, but I wouldn't be totally shocked if Omoruyi stays another year to play with that group.

Hope you are correct. When this game is announced, we will read TKR whiners complain the game is not at the RAC and hyperventilate about whether the B1G and NCAA count it as a home game. Who cares? I’ll be at this game.

Get the popcorn and the crying tissues ready

Note: Went to all the home games last year and the MSG game was the most memorable

That's the thing
I would guess you would be less tempted to fly out for the game if it was at the RAC in the middle of the season schedule
Something about a filled up Garden with RU fans for a big game
Assuming UCLA is good, it would be epic

And yes, tears will flow big-time
