Since the wife isn’t a sports fan I don’t watch a lot of basketball outside of the American until it nears tournament time. We went to Texas Roadhouse tonight and they had UNC vs NCSU on the tube and it showed UNC with a record of 8-9...what? I had to look it up to be sure. What in the world happened to UNC and for that matter the ACC. The conference only has 3 teams with fewer than 6 losses and they have 10 with 7 or more losses. Is Roy on the way out? Danny is still at Wake and doing a bang up job at 9-10 (2-7 in conference).

It will be short lived for UNC to have that type of record. Check out the McDonald's All-America list think four of them are signees. This type of swing is a product of one and dones, grad transfers, and I'm leaving because I don't get the playing time I deserve, the coach is just a mean man, etc. Hope it happens to all of the "blue bloods" of college basketball.

Major injuries have slowed the Heels

Combo of injuries and no depth because of the one an done's and transfers. At one point they had lost 5 consecutive games. One was a loss to Clemson in Chapel Hill. I think they said it was the 1st time Clemson had beaten UNC in Chapel Hill since Clemson joined the conference in the early 80s.

In general the ACC has 2 really good teams in Duke and Louisville and about 5-6 mediocre teams who will get bids, and 7 complete garbage teams.

Kansas, Duke, and Kentucky are the only teams in the Top 25 that could beat Florida State on a neutral floor right now. Louisville lost at home to FSU by 15 and it wasn’t even that close. 30 would be a fair assessment.

They were about like this 8-9 seed barely when they beat us in Elite Eight.

You are correct. I completely forget about Florida State. They've got 3 good teams and a bunch of mediocre to bad teams.

They were better that year than they are this year. The last 2 games they've played pretty well but prior to that they couldn't do anything from outside.

I don’t think Roy is in any trouble, they’ll be back next year. On the other hand, from the Wake Forrest message board I read, their fans wanted Danny fired a year or even 2 years ago!

Clemson had lost 59 in a row at UNC, dating back to 1926.

Of course they wanted Danny gone a year or two ago. We would have been screaming for his head a year or two ago. And despite their having been down for several years, I still bet they aren't as patient as we are.
