Starts today with 3 games, starting with 15-seed Pitt against 10-seed Stanford at 2pm. At 430pm, 14-seed Syracuse will play 11-seed SMU, with the winner advancing to take on 6-seed UofL. At 7pm, 13-seed Wake Forest is matched against 12-seed Virginia Tech.

The game I’ll be watching closely will be SMU versus Cuse , the SMU rematch will be tough. SMU has won the "physicality" battle. Should the Cards alternating between a suffocating Man-to-Man and a disruptive 1-3-1 Hybrid. On offense being patience, we commits to a "paint-first" offensive

Cuse-SMU should be an interesting game. SMU has lost their last 4 and really needs a couple of wins here in the ACCT to get back onto the right side of the bubble. Syracuse has lost their last 5, with their last win being by 1 point at home against SMU…

Watched the last 10 mins. or so of that Orangemen & SMU game. Both teams wanted the game. Now, SMU seems to be tougher at home. So, I think it should be a close game if the Cuse show-up with their A game. If we have to play SMU, we better bring that A game such as we did against Miami past Saturday. GO CARDS!

SMU has been on quite a roll here in the second half - cruising and up 20 with 5 minutes to go. Syracuse has been able to cut it back to 11, but it’s now SMU’s game to lose at this point.

Louisville needs to win the turnover battle against SMU by emphasizing ball security
This underscores the need for Miami-like physicality tomorrow. Make SMU work on the defensive side.

Man, this conference is deep. Virginia Tech also has their NCAA tournament hopes busted in OT, 95-89. Wake Forest advances to face 5 seed Clemson tomorrow night.

No doubt that the better defensive team will win that game. Two outstanding offensive teams and coaching minds, should be a fantastic game.

SMU also needs that game to get a little more cushion above the NCAA tournament bubble. Spicy!

This is why by starting a defensive possessions in the 1-3-1 hybrid zone and switches back to man to man will make Boopie/Pierre “thinkers”
In my opinion 🤔

Clemson looked good last night - controlled the game against Wake Forest from early in the first half (41-23 at the half) and never let Wake get any closer than the final margin of 9 points.

Quarterfinals are set - with no upsets. 9 seed FSU is the highest remaining seed. The FSU-Duke matchup will be interesting, as the Seminoles were very competitive against the Blue Devils, losing just 91-87 during the regular season.

Heckuva first game - Virginia outlasts NC State 81-74. That Virginia big man is an absolute beast - 8 blocked shots! Cards-Canes round 2 is next at about 250pm, with the winner to face the Wahoos tomorrow at 7pm.

Was driving in and just heard the final mins. Must of been a nice game to watch. Looks like they have us sitting at 3 1/2 pt. on the spread. I hope that we play it. We need to get up on them and stay 6 - 10 points ahead in 1st. half. Go Cards!!

Not wanting to sound like a broken record, but this conference tournament format of 5 games in 5 days is an absolute joke. After watching that bloodbath today, I’m okay with us sitting out another bruising game against Virginia tomorrow.

These schools are all whining that they are losing money … well, quit eliminating teams from the conference tournament. Contract the regular season by one week (by eliminating weeks with only one game), and play the conference tournament over two weeks, with the higher seeded team hosting the games. Play the first, second and third round games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of the first week, and the last two rounds on Thursday and Saturday.

Can you imagine how much more money the conference would make by playing 17 games instead of 14. Last year as the #2 seed, 3 of those games would have been played at the Yum Center. Guaranteed that would have made a lot more money for the conference than the way they’re doing it now.

Duke is missing their big 7-foot center and their starting point guard. FSU is right there with them with 1:28 to go in the second half.

Yeah Mr. Push, FSU played the Dukies as tough as anyone this year. They actually came back 3 times and had every chance in the world to win the game at the end. Could be that Duke might be venerable in one of the next two (maybe one if they lose tomorrow) in this tournament.

Clemson beats UNC by the exact same final score as the Duke-FSU game (80-79). You don’t see that happen very often.

Clemson had a 17 point lead with 12 minutes to go, and a 13 point lead as late as 3 minutes to go, but UNC made 6 3-pters in the last 3 minutes to get within 1 with 3 seconds to go.

Virginia went on a run late in the first half to push out to a 15 point lead against Miami. Now ahead 77-54 with just a couple of minutes left. Glad we softened Miami up for Virginia! 🤪

Virginia advances to the final 84-62. With Duke being down their PG and C, Virginia is going to be tough for whoever wins between Clemson and Duke.

I got one better than that.....get rid of conference tournaments and conference championships in football as well.

Exactly … each team plays 3 more regular season games in basketball and one more in football. Significantly more money all the way around, playing up to 54 basketball games and 18 football games, instead of 14 tournament basketball games and only 1 football game.

Very entertaining ACC championship game. Duke prevails 74-70 despite being down two starters. Very good team, but I’m not convinced that they are going to have a deep run in the NCAA tournament without their starting point guard. Also not convinced that their starting center will be back for the tournament, either.

Interesting fact … Duke wins the football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball ACC championships this academic year. First school to ever do that.
